The movie focus on one baby meerkat, named Kolo, from his birth to 1 year and all the adventures he has along the way. From the early days of his life at 3 weeks old when he takes his first steps outside the burrow he encounters battles with snakes, eagles and other beasts. Life appears to lunge Komo from one drama to another, in an attempt to stave off starvation, and keep out of the jaws of hungrey preditors. An older meerkat in the pack shows him how it's done. When separated from his family due to a battle with another tribe of meerkats, komo is forced to sleep alone undergrown. A scary experiance for a pack animal. But soon he is pushing on over the dangerous sun-baked desert in search of his family. When he encounters a pride of lions, one wrong step could have him spotted and gobbled up for lion dessert. However, quick thinking komo waits for the pack to rest before racing across land to return to his adoring family. Thank-goodness he was brave enought to tackle live scorpion for breakfast.
