It is surprisingly soft. If you are looking to comb out tangles this won't do it but what it does do, and does extremely well, is nurture your hair. Try the old "100 strokes a night" that women used to do and I think you'll find it makes a difference in your hair. Is it because it spreads the natural oils out? Maybe.
