Mirai Clinical Persimmon Soap for Old People Smell,Nonenal® Odor Eliminator

Thus soap lathers well. For over a year I didn't know if the different smell on me since moving into a new home was the air quality in thos place or if it was indeed me. I still don't know. I do know this soap has performed as the ad states. I wish it wasn't so expensive as I'm on a fixed income. When I need another bar, I will probably make a 2nd purchase. The fragrance is not overpowering. It's slippery, naturally, so be mindful of that. No residue is felt on my skin after use. The size is easy to handle. It's a solid bar, not a lightweight bar. You are getting what you paid for.

This stuff is amazing. I am in my 40’s now and heard of a thing called nonenal. I didn’t know this existed and it freaked me out. If you don’t know what nonenal is, it’s basically just “old person” smell. We all know that smell. Just think of your grandparents house when you first walk in after not being there in a while. Apparently, nonenal is oils that oxidize and can’t be removed by normal soap. At least that’s my understanding and since it doesn’t get broken down it transfers to clothing, furniture, etc. Anything our bodies come into contact with. Now, we all know that we are the last ones able to smell our own funk but everyone around us can smell it just fine. And what I read it says that nonenal starts in your 40’s. See why I was freaked out now? But I am also going through perimenopause and am paranoid that I smell different because of the hormonal shift. This soap is supposed to be able to break down the greases that cause “old person” smell and also help deodorize hormonal smell too. So I thought I would give it a try. They show you the areas of your body where the smells come from. One of which is behind the ears and back of the neck. I would have never guessed that those areas caused the smell. But I think it’s fair to say that we all know how behind the ears can get real funky if they aren’t washed regularly. Now get ready because I am going to get slightly gross for a minute. I rubbed my finger behind both my ears and smelled and yeah, it wasn’t great, even though I just washed that morning. So I gave the soap a shot and in particular focused on behind the ears. The result were pretty remarkable. I washed behind my ears on day one and then didn’t do it again for 3 days. Constantly smelling that area each day. The smell stayed gone for 2 days and by about the 3rd day it was starting to become slightly noticeable. That made me a believer. So I started using it in all the places the nonenal is at. I start by washing my entire body with regular soap and then at the end of my shower I use this soap in all the places they teach you that nonenal shows up. I have to say that I feel much more confident about how I smell after using it. No one wants to go through hormonal changes but we all have to. At least now we can be more comfortable in our skin while we go through it. I know it’s very expensive for a soap. But it is worth it. And if you only use it on the parts of the body that the nonenal smell comes from you won’t have to buy it again for a couple of months. Lastly, you need to be aware of the many knock offs that are out there. Be careful not to buy a soap that claims to do the same thing for a cheaper price. As far as I know, this is the only brand sold in the U.S. that actually has the ingredients in it that helps with the smell. So only buy this brand and even then be careful that you aren’t being sold a bootleg. It needs to come from Mirai. Even here on Amazon, you need to make sure you buy it from the Mirai store. It would really suck to pay this much for a soap that never worked. All that being said, I know I am not going to be without it, but that’s just me. Hope this long winded review helps.

This soap is amazing. I was using another bar soap that was french I loved the smell and size of the bar and it lasted a long time but it dried out my skin so bad. I went looking and found this one. I had noticed that I wasn't feeling clean anymore and my body was changing and my body odor was changing. I felt greasy but a weird kinda greasy. I am 65 yrs old and after reading about this soap I figured that my age was making me different. this soap took care of all of it. It smells good and made my skin soft even on my face. I felt so much cleaner. What a difference. It is pricey but I feel like it's worth it. If you buy it don't leave it near water that can splash it or leave it in a puddle after you have used it. It melts away very fast so take care of it and it will take care of you.

This is a lovely soap that lathers well, is nonirritating and seems to moisturize. Very faint fragrance. Would have five stars if it had a reasonable price.

I liked this soap. It lathered up nicely, had a faint smell which was pleasant. I don't know if it removed the odor from my body but I used it everyday in case it was helping. I ended up having to throw it away because after several days of it sitting in my shower on the ledge it attracted ants! The tiniest little ants I'd ever seen. I had it in a soap case but they found their way inside. Yesterday I had to toss the soap and wipe the area with paper towels to remove the ants from the ledge. Maybe they've come in our house because we haven't had any measurable rain in almost two months here in Texas. I have not seen them anywhere else in the house. Not near my cats litter box, my pets water dishes, our garbage cans, no where. Only on my soap. All I know is they found my soap, in the soap travel case, and loved it. After wiping away ants for a few days in a row I'd had enough.

Since this is stated a soap for “old people “, I’m 73 so I guess that makes me old. This is one expensive bar of soap. I bought a soap case so I don’t waste a drop. Since I’ve just received it and only used it once I don’t have much of an opinion. It has a very faint smell, after bathing there is no smell good or bad. My skin the next day doesn’t feel dry. I have no complaints except for the price.

So far I am satisfied with the results of the product. It definitely smells better ( mild scent) compared to other brands I’ve tried. I have noticed that it did quickly zap some underarm odors quickly and rinsed off easily. I’m now thinking of getting a special soap dish to protect it since it’s so expensive. I agree with other reviewers about using a regular soap to wash all over first and then going back to use this soap on the strategic key areas for those of us over 40! I do wish you had some kind of alternate packaging that doesn’t state that the product is for “old people smell “ even though I agree that’s what it’s for. My mother is very vain and would be very upset if I gave this soap to her to use, even though I know she would be so much more embarrassed if she had a situation where she had this odor and others could smell it on her or something she’s worn or on her favorite upholstered recliner. I have a feeling I won’t be able to introduce this product to her until she is less aware of the soap she has. If you had something like a paper outer band ( almost like a paper napkin ring around the box) that would help someone shopping for the specific product to show that this is the product for “ to remove & manage noneal that causes - old people smell “. That way if it’s a gift or a new product being used by a caregiver it won’t upset the person. The outside paper ring could easily be removed.

Got this for someone and they tried it and said it made their skin feel clean and they did not pick up on the "old person scent" nor did the kids. Problem is, it has its own scent and that can give you a headache. Plus you need to moisturize after as it really dries out the skin and makes it look older. Solves one issue a bit, get a few others. This one is better than others as no coconut or shea so no allergic reaction to those with allergies.

Moisturising and effective. It is quite expensive but going for cheaper imitations is not worth it

I decided to give this soap a try, although I haven't personally noticed any age-related body odour. I used it to wash my hair, scalp, neck and behind my ears, and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and refreshed my skin felt afterwards. I naturally have quite oily skin, and this soap seems to remove excess oil very effectively, leaving my skin feeling fresh, matte and almost squeaky clean, without making it feel excessively dry. I really like that clean, refreshed feeling. I haven't noticed any unpleasant odour afterwards either. So far, I'm very pleased with it. It's a lovely soap, especially if you prefer that thoroughly cleansed, fresh feeling rather than having any oily residue left on your skin.

Lovely soap lathers easily and feels very smooth..

The smell of the body changes after the first wash and stays neutral for more than 24h. I haven't tried any other similar products. The price is a bit discouraging, I suppose you'll need at least 2 bars per month, unless is for special occasions only :))
