Here's an unexpected confession: I originally bought this beef tallow to use as a facial moisturizer after seeing clips about tallow's skincare benefits. My advice? Don't. It's partially liquid at room temperature (I live in Florida — nothing is solid at room temp here), making it messy to apply, and it smells unmistakably like meat. I'd recommend looking for a whipped or specially processed tallow cream if you want to experiment with tallow-based skincare. Once I gave up on the skincare idea, I started using it for its intended purpose: cooking—and wow, it shines there. This tallow made my oven-roasted brussels sprouts extra crispy and flavorful. I also rubbed it on chicken thighs before roasting, which gave them a beautifully browned, golden crust, even though they were skinless. I now keep it in the fridge, where it solidifies and is much easier to portion. My only critique is the packaging. I'd prefer it in a glass container rather than plastic. If you're looking for high-quality cooking fat, this is excellent. Just maybe stick to its culinary uses, and don't try to rub it on your face.
