Bought these to put on the post of my large bird feeder. Mounted them vertically - one on each side of the post. These seem heavy duty, with a nice finish. Seem to be doing the job - no raccoon raids on my feeder for three nights. Yippee.

They work great keeping them away

So I had to build a 10 foot security pole to watch over our neighborhood mail box due to break-ins recently. I added the Spikes to it to deter vandals and thieves from trying to climb up and steal the lights or cam. They are really sharp and strong. Easy to install.

These are a little dangerous to install so wear gloves. They do exactly what is needed but require a very firm base if they are going to stay where they are supposed to. I have found them taken off their base by the people that trespass and it would take a simple tool with what screws come with them. You have to buy heavy duty and much longer screws if you are trying to deter a break in.

Great deterrent for human varmints too
