This is exactly what I was looking for to use as a strip of dim lights to run over the doorways on the hallway for a night light to the bathroom. The dimmer has quite a range from turned off to very bright but the dial is rather loose so the slightest touch will shift it. Fine adjustments to the lighting is possible but you need a very delicate touch. Also, the adhesion isn't very strong. It has this thick yet smooth, flexible waterproof coating over the leds which I appreciate for the safety of not snagging over lights.

I like that everything comes with the Led's dimmer, power supply and of course the lights. I thought these lights would of been a bit more to white light side but had a bit more of a blue hue than I expected. I may have ordered the wrong ones don't know as I threw the box out before the review not a deal breaker for my project just was expecting something different.Ease of installation will vary with what your doing with them if you use the whole string in a continues line installation is a snap. I had to cut mine into smaller lengths to go around the perimeter of my shower. This requires you cut the strip at any of the many marks that designate where to cut. You than have to take sharp tool and cut through the clear protective coating that makes them water proof to get to the solder connections. Which means you'll have to have some experience with soldering. I joined my strips together with thin gauge wires and than once installed took clear silicone in a tube and covered the exposed connections.I have seen 90 degree connectors for that purpose but i have not used them since i can solder and have the tools to do so.The adhesive seems strong the backing tape says 3M on it so I assume its a quality adhesive on the strip. I had a set from another company a while back for another project and the adhesive was so bad they kept falling off I had to use a hot glue gun to install them. I don't see that being the case with these led's.If I need a set of dimming led lights again I will order more of these as they met my expectations and than some.

Used for exterior entry lighting. I chose to install transformer at an interior location for max weather protection; so, I needed to splice an additional 15’ of 2-conductor wire between the transformer and the lighting strip. In lieu of an adapter (bare wire to supplied connection), I cut-off the connector and stripped the wire at the lighting strip to make a (soldered) connection to the new length of wire. Otherwise, installation went well. FYI, I used deep u-shaped, aluminum channels with raised convex diffusers to gain max diffusion of light and avoid hotspots. Worked very, very well. Although the aluminum channels weren’t cheap, considering the desired effect of diffused light, they were worth the expenditure. I selected the “warm white” option. The illumination level is great. The (white) color is good, although not quite as warm as I anticipated. All things said, I’m very pleased with application.

I purchased these lights to install under my rooftop tent and inside of my trailer cabinets. I know I wanted something waterproof, warmer color, dimmable, 12v, and low power usage. This product solved each one. Granted, I only installed them a few days ago so I can't speak about the waterproof-ness of it yet.The install went great and it was simple to do. The back has 3M double sided tape; one of the top choices. In addition to the 3m, I used a little PL400 because the surfaces have a rough painted finish on steel and other stickers don't stick. So far, this is holding up great. On the cuts, I put heat shrink tubing on the end with a tab of hot glue to make it more waterproof, just in case. I also purchased plugs to solder to the ends, just like the factory plugs.I have nothing to compare it to, but I thought the power usage was a bit high. I want to say that with about 13' of lights, I get about 1ah of battery depletion. I have this hooked up to a 12v, 100ah LiFePO4 battery. Maybe this is normal for lights in this category. I was just thinking LED are energy efficient and the SMD2835 are some of the most efficient LED's.Despite the power usage, I ordered a second pair to continue with my project and it was identical to the first with build quality.

Over the last 7 years, I've done several projects using LED strips from various vendors. This kit seems to be much better quality than others I've used. Granted, never purchased professional kits, always hobbyist consumer grade. But, for under $20, this seems to be a good compromise between value and quality.This is my first time using 2835 LED's and will not be last. The strips are narrower and the LED seem just as bright as the 5050's. Also, they seem to run cooler, an important consideration in my implementation - an aquarium tank lid light.Another positive about the kit that I received was that it was one continuous 5 meter string, no splices, unlike some LED's strips I've received that are spliced every 1 meter.Only questionable part is the quality of the power supply. Only time will tell but my experience with other kits like this is the p/s will usually fail within a few months.The dimmer is adequate though not using it in my implementation. However, it is convenient to use for testing while working on a project.BTW, if you are new to working with LED's, they are fairly simple and easy to use. However, if you intend to cut / splice for a custom installation, suggest that you learn to use a soldering iron. I've tried the premade connectors with pigtails and found out the hard way that they do not make a reliable circuit.Overall, I can easily recommend this LED kit and would purchase again.
