HOUSBAY Sunrise Alarm Clock with White Noise Sound Machine for Bedroom

I used to own the product this is similar to (the original when it first came out) and it was great, but unfortunately developed a weird noise issue and died for no apparent reason. I did not want to spend hundreds to replace it, most definitely did not want a subscription, and truthfully I primarily use it for its white noise feature to sleep, only occasionally for alarms. I was pleasantly surprised by this clock. It feels very lightweight and somewhat cheap to handle but I didn’t see any defects and it looks expensive. Being lightweight is probably a pro for some. I personally find it way more attractive than the clock it replaced. The speakers are also surprisingly decent quality (I tried and returned another similar clock that sounded awful) and I love the white noise. I also love that I was able to completely turn off the clock screen at all times, and it is dimmable is you wish to have the time displayed at all times. And even if it dies a year in, considering the price, I’d still be satisfied with its performance.

I don't do reviews ever but this alarm clock is so wonderful I'm making an exception. We don't even use the sound machine. The light by itself wakes us up gently without an obnoxious beeping or buzzing jolting us awake. You can set it to start getting light gradually for 5 to 30 minutes before it reaches full brightness and it turns off automatically after 30 minutes. If you rise at the same time every day you just set it and forget it. It was easy to set up and there are many options to choose from. We sleep in a pitch black room so it is a pleasure to be awakened by this awesome Sunrise light.

Price: The price is good but not great. I purchased this item because my apartment complex has very bright lights in the courtyard and parking garage. This light beams into my apartment and I can never tell when it is day or night. Throws my whole internal clock off. Quality: This product does exactly what it says. I have noticed on several occasions that I am waking up when the light is a bit half way to full "sunrise" and not before. That is a good sign so far. The item has a very nice shape, the quality of the light is fantastic. It is not LED bright right in your eyes, it is much softer yellow but very bright and shaded. I chose the bird sound, and the quality of the speaker is absolutely fantastic. I don't notice hard looping, but the variety of the bird calls are average so it is hard to tell. Functionality: The item is very easy to setup. All button are pretty intuitive. You can adjust the clock brightness, the brightness of the "sun light", the volume of the alarm sound. The only issue I have is there are no options to set weekday and weekend schedules. I have to wake up on weekdays much earlier than I would on the weekend. I would love to just set a schedule where on the weekend the birds don't chirp. It is easy enough to just turn off the sound on a Friday, but I don't want to have to think about it.

This clock is a game changer! I’ve had it for over a month and it has changed my mornings. I did research between this one, the Dream Egg, and the Hatch. I went with HOUSBAY because of the simplicity and the price. It’s easy to program and looks beautiful on my nightstand. I’m a nurse so I wake up at 0445 on workdays. I used to wake up to a jolt on my cell alarm clock and hit snooze 4x. Now I only hit snooze once with this alarm and I feel more peaceful when I wake up. I am still paranoid so I do have my cell on as backup but I’ve never needed to use it. It only has five alarm sounds to use but I don’t need bells and whistles with a lot of sounds and app controls. It!even has a night routine option to wind down. I love it!

Only lasted 6 months before LED display started glitching. 3 months in the alarm decided to not go off and caused me to oversleep. Light did not gradually become brighter when the alarm went off, it just went to full brightness which was not as advertised imitating the gradual light increase of a sunrise.

I switched from my phone alarm since I would mindlessly turn it off in my sleep. With this alarm I now never miss an alarm and the overall quality of the clock is great. I love the cloth finish.

I bought this sunrise alarm clock specifically because it doesn’t use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and I really appreciate that aspect. It's simple, low-tech, and doesn't require an app or account to function, which is exactly what I wanted. That said, I’ve had a hard time getting the results I was hoping for. I previously used a Wi-Fi-enabled sunrise clock that gently brightened the room in a way that felt very natural. In comparison, this one feels much more aggressive — even with the sunrise duration set to 15 minutes, the light gets very bright very quickly. It also has a sort of pulsing effect that both my husband and I find distracting and a bit unpleasant. I’m still experimenting with the settings, and I really want to like it. But if I can’t get it to brighten more gently in the mornings, I may have to start looking for alternatives again.

I purchased this sunrise alarm clock as a gift for a friend. He told me that his wife loves it and has been very happy with it. It seems to have been a great gift, and I’m glad it is getting regular use.

For the price not worth it. The numbers are small so if you have a large room not great. Light options not great. Too bright to Sleep with, so you need to turn off colour options.

I had been looking for something that would aid my sleep, I normally will put in a headphone and listen to ASMR or just white noise. this machine is great, it really does have a lot of features and options for lighting and the dial for the clock time is great! I turn it higher when I wake and lower to go to sleep. I have no complaints at all.

It's the right idea but so confusing to use. Really too bad that the functionality wasn't easier, feel as if I have to reference the manual every 3 days to remember all the variation of buttons that need pushing.
