True plug and play compatibility for 5th gen 4Runners with base tweeters. Not sure if they’re plug-n-play for JBL speaker 4Runners, but lightyears better than the base tweeters. I think they use a little more power, which required a slight EQ adjustment that took like 30 seconds. Fit was perfect. Be careful when removing the stock tweeters. They're bolted to a small backing plate that the Kicker tweeters need to bolt to, and the metal on that plate is surprisingly soft and bends easily. Speakers worked immediately after connecting. Even though they’re in a covered location on the dash, the metal mesh grill is nice for additional protection.

Direct replacement for my 2020 Toyota 4Runner as also mentioned on other reviews. Yes it is “plug-and-play” - you won’t need anything else to install. Definitely an improvement in sound from stock so “price to upgrade” ratio was good. Some notes on install: 1. Plastic, interior trim pry tool recommended. But mine was at my office and I was excited and impatient so I used a butter knife with some tape - no problem. 2. Bolts that attach the speaker to the speaker bracket are VERY tight - maybe to ensure they don’t vibrate loose? Easier to remove the entire bracket w/speaker and then work on removing the two speaker bolts. Trust me - otherwise you will bend the bracket. The bracket is thin and is easily bent. 3. The weld nuts on the back of the speaker bracket for the speaker bolts are square with rounded corners. And again, these bolts are insanely tight. The spot welds will make it hard to use a standard or adjustable wrench on the weld nuts and the wrenches won’t hold - that’s how tight these bolts were on. It is best to use vise-grip pliers to hold the weld nut as you loosen the speaker bolt from the speaker bracket. Other than the extra time it took me to figure out how to get the super tight bolts out, this was very straightforward. Knowing the best process now, I could do this on someone else’s truck in 10 minutes or less for both speakers. And now you know.

This has only been in the car for almost a week, but it is a great upgrade from the stock tweeter in a '25 Subaru Crosstrek. This has an actual magnet attached and the detail, separation and clarity is far better than the one it replaced, At $100 dollars it is a bit of a bargain, and should be considered as a base for upgrading the stereo. It is easy to install, excepting for the very tight space for accessing the (2) screws. I improvised a tool and it was no problem after that. The wiring was one simple connector and the job was done as soon as the fasteners were reinstalled.

Easy plug and play for 3rd gen tacomas . The sound is very crisp. Good quality tweeters . Can’t go wrong with kickers!!

Great upgrade from the stock (non JBL) tweeters on the Toyota Tacoma. Plug and play installation was a breeze. Took me about half an hour. I chose this over the DS18. That one is too trebly for my taste. This compliments the stock door speakers. Well worth the extra $$!

Direct plug-and-play for 2015 Legacy. Great upgrade over the paper-cone OE speaker in my Premium trim level. Note: only ONE of the two mounting screws will fit. I found the one screw to be enough to keep the tweeter in place, so I’m OK with that. Just realize, again, that only ONE screw will be holding this down. This thing is likely way more efficiency (sensitive) than the OEM speaker, so highs will sound better, even with the stock head unit. I upgraded to these tweeters along with replacing the door speakers with more-sensitive two-way speakers that seem to match well. I’m not sure how this will sound with the stock speakers. How you like this, as with any speaker, will depend on what you listen to. I find the tweeters have enhanced talk radio (what I listen to 90% of the time) nicely, but I have to adjust the high frequency response down a bit for other music to prevent it from sounding harsh. I’m not upset about this, because I had to adjust the low end of the EQ All the way down to prevent the new door speakers from sounding annoyingly boomy. As with anything, YMMV as your tastes may be different than mine. I’m very pleased and really wanted to post the information I could NOT find, which is that they are electrically plug-and-play (no adapter required), but one of the two mounting screws isn’t even close to lining up....

Massively improved my audio of my 2017 tacoma. I already have kicker door speakers and this was the final piece missing. The price is worth the purchase. Big improvement from the factory paper tweeters. Just take your time with the install as your working around the pillar airbags.

Wow! These tweeters are a great upgrade, can’t hear a big difference when sound is lower but pump up the sound and hear the clarity and sounds amazing. If you want a cheap upgrade and don’t want to upgrade anything else or don’t have the cash right now, this well improve the sound even with the stock head unit.

Great upgrade from non-jbl 5th Generation 4runner. Install was super easy and smooth. these fit the 4runner dash brackets perfectly and they are plug and play. remove the old bracket with a 10mm socket, unplug the old dash tweeter, remove the dash tweeter 10mm bolts, replace the old with the new, replace the bolts, plug it in, reinstall in the dash - done (took me less than 20mins) Sound improvement was very evident even with AM material. The highs have been improved in range and smoothness. The imaging is also much better than stock using the factory non-jbl radio. These have higher sensitivity than the stock tweeters i.e. they sound ‘louder’. At around 200CAD, i don’t think you can find better value out there. They are made by Kicker and with the silk dome tweeter, these are simply great value for top quality sound.

Wow , definitely sounds better than the factory Twitters, reasonable priced since i can easily do it myself , so i do not have to pay for the installation .
