The only difference between Panko and regular breadcrumbs is in the size and texture of the crumb and there can be interchanged in recipes. Panko breadcrumbs will give a crispier/heartier coating if you are using it to coat food such as chicken or onion rings etc… I prefer panko for coating/breading and keep it in the house at all times.
