M12 Stubby vs M18 Mid torque comparison
I'm a professional flat rate tech. This gun for its size has a boatload of torque. Any car or small SUV lug nut (100ftlb or less lug torque) come off like nothing. Itll do 130-150ftlb jeeps/tahoes/f150s, but the inital time to break it free is longer compared to the m18 mid torque. Compared to my M18 Mid torque, the motors in this gun spin faster. So after the inital break away they spin off faster. Also for installing lug nuts, they spin on considerably faster. With that being said, break away torque is still better on the M18 mid torque, despite having only 50ftlb rated more torque. You can tell the anvil on the mid torque hits harder than the stubby. Did rear hubs on an impala the other day, had to use a universal swivel 18mm to access 2 of the bolts. The stubby did not have enough blow, with the universal socket, to break away those bolts. The m18 mid torque ripped them off with no issue. The main benefit on this gun is the weight and compact profile. I have the 5ah high output xc battery, which is the only one I would use because its considerably more powerful than the cp2.5, and it allows the gun to stand on its end easier. Compared to my m18 mid torque with a 5ahxc battery, the gun is noticeably lighter. Also squeezing into tight spots, like caliper bracket bolts or suspension bolts its much easier with the stubby. All and all, it's a fantastic addition to the professional automotive tech. If I was just starting out, this would be the one I would get. If it cant break it free, you can always break it by hand first, but most day to day stuff you come across will break away with this gun.

Awesome Package
I love this thing. Perfect size, ergonomic, easy to use, just powerful enough, and a great price ($179 when I bought it).I keep this in my car 24/7 for whatever comes up. Barely takes any space, especially with the small batteries.Grips sockets tightly (though they can be tough to get on).My wheels torque to 129 lbft, and it takes everything this lil guy has to break some of the lugs, but it can. After a full wheel, it needs a moment to cool down and it chews through the small 3Ah batteries fast. But when you’re done, the sockets themselves are hot to touch… lots of power in such a small package. If you find yourself doing many many wheels a day, I doubt it’s enough, and you’ll need many large batteries. For amateur work and fitting in small spaces, it’s great.

Buy It!
Buy It! I have a 1/2” 18 volt that is a beast and I use it often. The one downfall is the weight. I was looking for something smaller to use at home and this 12volt was it! Haven’t found anything that it wouldn’t handle. Used it for doing lawnmower blades, tires on my Polaris Ranger, tires on my car trailer- this little impact is great AND it’s lightweight. Changing bigger tires does eat up battery life, but having a few batteries makes it easier. I suggest the larger 12 volt.

It’s exactly what I expect
★★★★★The Milwaukee M12 FUEL Stubby 1/2 Inch Impact Wrench is an excellent tool. It has impressive power for its compact size and makes working in tight spaces much easier. The build quality feels very solid, and the design is comfortable to hold for extended use.I really like the portability and convenience of the M12 platform. It has plenty of torque for many automotive and maintenance jobs, and the performance is exactly what I expected from Milwaukee. This is a great tool for both professionals and DIY users who need power without a bulky impact wrench. Very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Great product
This is a game changer . This is a powerful impact wrench that easily removes lug nuts and any tight bolts. I work on cars a lot and this is compact and easy to use and very powerful.

Amazing impact
Use it for Land Rover lug nuts and axle nuts works perfectly fine not the strongest but it makes up for it in size and weight and still strong enough for literally any car repair

Lightweight and powerful. Perfect for DIY’ers.
Since I refuse to buy a new truck and I need to start doing more driveway work, I’m building out my cordless collection and I needed a 1/2” impact and this was my choice. I haven’t used this one enough to test battery usage, but all my Fuel tools are great. The overall quality of the tool is the high quality expected from Milwaukee. This 1/2” impact is very small and lightweight compared to a pneumatic gun of similar power. I tested it on the lugs of my wife’s Highlander and 5 seconds of hammering removed it. They were last rotated at the dealer so the torque was probably pretty high. This won’t be up to the task for heavy equipment, suspension or other work with large fasteners in poor shape. But, for an old guy doing car work on a Tacoma, this M12 1/2” impact is perfect!

Best investment ever made.
Received just in time to complete a project enabling us to get back on the road, the fact that they are "stubby" allowed for hard to reach areas get fixed. Well worth the purchase. The tool is great for the portability, durability, adjustability. We always put our trust in the Milwaukee brand of tools. They give us the best value for our investment.

What a tool! Wow...
This is easily the most eye-opening tool purchase of the last year. These little things are incredible - the power and light weight are astonishing. Needs the 5.0 HO battery to produce the full rated torque, but still does very well without it. Liked it so much I also bought the 3/8" version.
