Iron 6 inch Shelf Brackets Flat Angle Curved Black Floating Industrial Shelves Support Brackets, Set of 2

I added some cat climbing shelves to one room in my home. I had 5 shelves already in place. The existing shelves are attached to the wall with 3/8 in x 6 inch long steel rods drilled into the back of the shelves and then into the 2x4's in the wall every 16 inches so the shelves appear to float on the wall. (see photo)I needed one "starter shelf" but I could not use my "floating pins" like I had on the other shelves because I could not hit studs on both sides where I wanted the additional floating shelf because none were there. I wanted solid, clean looking, simple brackets that could hold a pair of 14 pound cats using the shelf as a jumping point. (see photo of low, black shelf).I noodled around Amazon and located these very versatile yet simple brackets. The brackets are very minimalist and very heavy duty. They appear to be 12 gauge steel that is powder coated with a satin black finish.The shelves come with yellow plastic, expanding wall anchors and 8 black screws that match the bracket to mount the brackets. I didn't use the supplied yellow plastic anchors, I used screw in metal anchors for better strength on the drywall to support the weight of the cats. The silver metal screw in mounts I used are self drilling, easy to remove and hold a lot more weight in 1/2 inch drywall (see photo - the yellow anchors are included but I used the silver ones I had on hand). Those screw in anchors are available on Amazon under the trade name "Screw-it" (their choice of name, not mine)I undermounted the brackets (see center photo) and if you have some DIY experience, it's a simple job. Took me about 15 minutes total. Looks great, very functional, very strong, clean, contemporary lines. I'm always impressed by elegant simplicity that works well and is high quality - these brackets are all of those qualities and more.Got the shelves painted up in the final photo on the right. You can see the brackets on the low shelf on the right hand side of the photo holding the 1st step to the rest of the "cat stairs". Hope that helps!

Absolutely PERFECT! I made a floating shelf the "easy" way without any hardware but the weight/thickness of the wood caused the front to droop a bit. These simple brackets were the perfect solution! The cast iron like finish makes it very sturdy, extremely easy to install, and complimented my big ole hankin shelf. I wanted black screws to match instead of regular ones so they'd be barely visible. If you do this, stay away from the black gypsum screws! They break off into the wood and plaster and you'll be really sorry. Pre-drill your hole, and a basic drywall screw should work just fine. Or you could just use silver screws since no one (except me) will pay that much attention to detail.

Not just easy to install but so clever, the different ways you can install them depending on your needs. I needed the brackets above the shelf, not below but I may get another pair for a different room and install differently. Attractive, unobtrusive, strong and cost effective.

I always have a pile of books laying around my family room so decided to put a small shelf by my couch. I am very happy with the look of the brackets. We mounted them on studs and the are definitely sturdy. The screws that came with it are really strong too. And they give you and extra! My shelf looks awesome!

I wanted to DIY a shelf with a rod underneath but I wasn't sure how I would mount the shelf on the wall. I came across these shelf mounts doing a search, & I could not be happier with the results!The mounts were super easy to attach to my shelf and my wall. I used different wall anchors than what was included, but I as I said before- I couldn't be more thrilled with the results!

This floating shelf was tilted down and not securely attached to the wall. I wanted to place these glass vases on it but was understandably concerned about safety. Considered purchasing a new shelf but then saw these brackets. The brackets are attached only to the wall since the shelf is attached separately and they provide all the support needed. And they look great!

The design effect looks wonderful, and they're very sturdy brackets. A nice value for your dollar, but could be a little less costly for what they are. Overall I think they are very nice, and look fantastic on the wall!

Love these. Look rugged yet clean and modern at the same time. One gripe, the eye hole for the fasteners are properly set with divots so the screw is flush, but on the shelf’s under side they are not. Not a big deal. Just a little attention to detail missed by the manufacture.
