This little notebook is a handy size to carry around. The pages are pretty thin, however I wrote with a fine point fountain pen and it had a very minor bleed through but definitely didn't make the reverse side unusable. No bleed at all with a regular pen. I didn't notice the strap on the outside to hold the book closed, personally I don't like it but I know other people do. It does have a silk bookmark attached. 4 stars because it does not lay flat like advertised, doesn't even try to. It closes immediately if you don't hold the left side down. Once you flip enough pages so the left side has more than the right, it closes to the left. If you're looking for a lay-flat notebook specifically then this is not the one you want. If you just want a little pocket notebook that's larger than a typical pocket notebook, should work fine for you.

First of all this is a graph ruled journal which has an elastic to keep it closed. The journal weights very little because of the paper that is used. It is not Tomoe River Paper but feel very close to it. The notebook has a back pocket to store bits and bobs.I do have to mention that the grid lines are dark. I don't mind because it helps with my handwriting. The top of each page has 3 tiny rows for: Month, Day and Date. You would need a super extra fine highlighter to use to mark them. If you have excellent eyesight this can work for you.All in all I am pleased with my purchase and will be picking up more notebooks in the future.

My friend's daughter just graduated from elementary book. I had been searching for a graduation gift for a while. This notebook caught my eyes. The girl likes writing down her ideas so I thought a notebook would be a perfect gift for her.When I received the notebook, I was very pleasantly surprised. The cover is leather textured, soft to touch, and looks very elegant. There are pockets on the back of the cover, it's very convenient. The quality of the interior paper is superb, very smooth, looks and smells nice. I love the cream color. The notebook also has a durable closing strap which keeps the notebook from curling up over time. My friend's daughter really loves the notebook. My only small wish is that there could be more choices for cover colors. In particular I was hoping there's pink. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

These notebooks are indeed velvet! The cover is so smooth and soft, you can run your hands over it forever :). The pages look plain on first sight, but when I flipped through them and wrote on one page, they felt surprisingly smooth and velvet too! I bought a red one and a green one, thinking that I can use them at work or give to friends at work. The color is subdued, the look simple and elegant, the cover and the pages are high quality, plus nice features like elastic band, ribbon bookmark, and inner pocket, these notebooks are perfect for office. But guess what? My teenage daughter would like to have one for devotions, so now I am down to one :(. The pictures I took don't really do the notebooks justice, but anyone who likes high quality yet low-key products would appreciate these notebooks. I am going to order more for Christmas.

Great item for the price! The cover is hard enough to write on, but soft enough to the touch. Can’t wait to order another one!

The notebook is a really elegant product.Haven't written a diary for a long time, when I hold this small book, it gave me the feeling of my college time. I always wanted to have leather bound journal to write down my thoughts everyday. However, whatever I saw in store or online is quite expensive and heavy. It does not feel right.I was so happy to find this one at amazon! It's so elegant and personal. The price is also right for me.When I got it, I cannot help open the package and feel it in my hand. The cover is soft and feels like real leather. The paper is smooth and thin, feels quite expensive. The journal is light, easy to carry around. When I wrote on the first page, I was surprised how beautiful my writing appears comparing to how my hand writing normally showed up on other papers :).

I have purchased this journal at least 5 times. It is my official favorite journal. The cover is not too flimsy and not stiff. The pages have a buttery feel when you write on them.I seriously journal everyday and am so glad to have found this product.I purchased a few as gifts as well.
