love the meat ball seconds hand!
- classically good watch - purchased for the wife unit as a fun watch, and she was absolutely delighted by the looks, the movement, and the comfort on the wrist - living near the tropics and swimming on the Gulf of Mexico requires stainless bands for our watches - this Blue Scuba Dude Amphibia is a bargain for its features and performance - the movement can be hand-wound, but offers the convenience of automatic winding - time and date was easy to set - surprised at the ease of the 'rapid calendar advance' feature: 8->12->8->12, etc. - band is more comfortable than cheaper Seiko 5 bracelets - easy to remove links to size the bracelet (took two out for the wife unit) - movement keeps good time - more accurate than a 7S26 out of the box without regulation! - lume is sub-par, but OK for short use great watch - a real bargain for an automatic that can be hand wound and with 200m water resistance!

Charming and fun watch
This is a really nice diver for casual wear. It has a lot of old school charm. I thought the 15mm thickness would bother me, but itโs pretty light for an automatic and the 39 ish mm diameter makes it comfy even with a NATO strap. I love that teal blue dial and the acrylic crystal adds to the charm. Much has been said about the infamous Vostok stem. Yes, it is finicky but I like it. Both hand and auto winding is great at this price point. I can see why some love this iconic and quirky Russian doll. That said, I agree that it is primarily only going to appeal to watch collectors or those looking for a little quirk on their wrists. Iโm both.

Vostok Amphibia "Scuba Dude" - Best bang for the buck, period.
I'm really rather shocked - and beyond pleased - that this watch exists. What can be had for so little money, considering what you're getting, is pretty incredible. The watch is well made, with nice materials and machining. The 38x15 case with short lugs works so well. 15mm may sound high, but to me it's a non-issue. The rubber strap that I purchased mine on is buttery soft and supple (finding one this nice is rare, quite honestly - this isn't a Seiko wrist killer). Setting is certainly interesting in how the crown "hangs" once unscrewed - you also have to pull out some in order to move the hands (Google the design behind this - fascinating and rather ingenious). I chose to just run through 24 hours to advance the date (which turns over precisely at the hour - take that Datejust!). This was time consuming, but once done it's done. There's apparently a quicker way to do it, but I'm not that lazy. The bezel moves fairly freely (bidirectionally), so using this for actual dive timing is not an option. Things like water resistance and time keeping accuracy will be seen, er, in time. For me, a total watch nut who has a collection that ranges from Swatch to Casio to Tag to IWC to Rolex to Speake-Marin, this is a real home run. I'll definitely be buying another one at some point. This is a real deal value proposition, period end of story.

Scuba dude is the real thing!
What a great surprise! For the price I wasnt expecting much but I saw great reviews for this watch and the Vostok brand itself but I didnt think it was true. I thought it was fluff, but when I received it, it was all eye opening. First, I appreciate the small minimal package. The box is small like timex or casio which I like because it takes less material and compact. Then you open it and this bright shiny watch peeks at you bright eye. The dial is a teal color with polish bezel and case. The shine and it's small 39mm case is tastefully done. If it were bigger it would be too much but keeping it's small size is perfect for an everyday watch. And for the crystal, we all know it is an acrylic crystal and could scratch easy but a small poly watch could do the fix. Finally the resin band is so good. Seiko has a tougher feeling strap compared to this. I think I can comfortably wear this all day. But, I have to come forth and say that I do plan on changing the bezel to a Seiko style because I like the bigger sized bezel. And have a silver insert, I might update here with a completed product. With that being said, I really like this product and would put it in my rotation.

Quite A Nice Watch
I am not a collector, this watch was purchased for everyday use and after wearing it for a week and a half I am pleased with the purchase. As other reviewers have mentioned this watch is lighter weight than expected, I find that this is a good thing and helps to make it seem less obtrusive on the wrist. I chose the 420 case for it's smaller profile and this has also helped with wearability. Shipping from Russia via DHL right at two weeks with no problems. Watch keeps respectable time thus far and is plenty attractive ( I have a teal-blue scuba dude with light gray NATO strap). I am pleased with both the product and the seller at this point and would recommend them both to others. Very much hoping to get the advertised 10 year service life out of this one.

I love this watch! But be sure you know what you're getting before you buy it.
What to expect: 1. A really cool looking watch which has a lot of history behind it. 2. A watch that you can modify endlessly What not to expect: 1. A really good timepiece. You can regulate this to be quite accurate, but it's a low-cost mechanical watch. Don't expect quartz or chronometer accuracy. With a little work, however, you can get this watch to within 10 seconds/day. 2. A good bracelet. The bracelet that comes with it is garbage. Get rid of it and put the watch on something better. 3. Scratchproof. The crystal is acrylic (plastic) and will scratch over time. Overall: if you know what you're getting and know you want a Vostok, buy this. If you want a practical watch for daily use, this isn't for you - get a Timex or Casio.

I am happy soviet man.
The real watch for those who capable to realize the difference between overpriced SWISS ETA's watches and most practical shockproof, waterproof affordable automatic monster with handwinding function and hacking option too for at least 50 years to last with trust and without service at all. Mine has even precise which exceeds Rolex and Omega. Even more affordable watch for 28 USD can make an bright impression on you if you take a look at a balance wheel in work! The great job! Thank you MotherLand! I would rather add something else - in my collection of different watches (more than 45) only soviet watches like Raketa, ZIM(Pobeda), Poljot and Vostok are working without stop. My farther's Poljot and Sekonda from 70-th are more reliable than modern Orient Curator (200 USD) which broke in 5 month. But modern Japanese and SWISS like Tissot make a break every 4 hours and can stop even being on my wrist .... So I am talking to you, Genuine Swiss Eta's - GIVE ME A BREAK!

Russian POS!
I bought this watch because of its nice combination of Scuba capability and not bad looking either for daily use. It is advertised as being useful to 200M, 660 feet depth. Unfortunately it flooded at a mere 120 feet of depth a couple of weeks ago in Bonaire. I notified the Amazon seller and received a response from someone named Sergey who gave instructions to remove the back. I responded with my concern that the watch flooded with SALT water - salt, as most folks know, inevitably causes corrosion. This was over a week ago, neither Sergey or anyone else has chosen to respond - in the meantime the watch crown has totally seized solid making it impossible to set the time - although the second hand still sweeps. I have to conclude that a), the watch is really not built for service to 660 feet, and b) the sellers have chosen to hit the "ignore" button. Buyer beware, this was a little too good to be true.

Watch looks better in real life than in the photo
Vostok as a watch brand in now my favourite. You need to be patient concerning delivery times, but it's worth the wait. Hand winding is a lot smoother than on some more expensive automatics that also have hand winding. Quality for a low price and looks great on the wrist with a NATO strap - highly recommended!

Watch stopped working
Its been only 7 months of use and the watch has stopped working. Within 24 hrs its lagging by 3 hrs. Will there be a warranty to cover this?
