It is located under the foam on the plate.** A: The red wire is the Load which is the wire that will feed the power to the lights. The green wire is the ground wire. Black - Line Wire,120V feeding the photoelectric eye. White - Neutral wire Red - Load Wire, feeds the lights Green - Ground Wire, grounded **Q: How sensitive is the photocell? In other words the light i want to control hangs above it and would Shine down on it. Will that make it turn off?** A: My experience is only with outside application. It is located around the corner of the house from one of four front yard an upward pointing nite houselights. This sensor allows lights to illuminate at dusk or during a severe thunderstorm and go off at daylight. **Q: How do I fix? lights go on and off every 30 seconds or so. There was a yellow wire that was between foam piece and plate that’s loose** A: The photocell should only have 3 wires: Black (HOT), White (Neutral), and Red (Load). If the light connected to the photocell cycles ON and OFF every 30 seconds or so, there are two possible causes: (1) The black and red wires are connected backwards and need to be swapped. The black (HOT) wire from the photocell should be connected to the black 120V HOT wire from the breaker. The red (LOAD) wire should be connected to the black wire that goes to the lamp/fixture. If these two wires are backwards the light will cycle on/off every so often. (2) Make sure that the bulbs connected to this photocell are not "Dusk to Dawn" bulbs. These type of bulbs have their own built-in photocells in each light bulb and they will fight with other photocells on the same circuit. Saved a lot of money as a DIY project ### ⭐ Last about 3 months *by A***R on May 26, 2022* Easy to install. Bought 2 one for front yard and one for the back yard. I’ve had both since February 16 and the one in the back yard had issues first. My lights turn on now at random times on random days. I wake up early in the morning when it’s pitch black and my lights are not on. They worked fine for awhile and now my front yard photocell isn’t turning my lights on. Sometimes the lights will randomly come on but most nights nothing. I’m an electrician and I know photocells are suppose to be able to last even in extreme heat or cold weather. I’ve installed several on light poles that have lasted years on end. These are a complete failure. I will look for something else that will be worth my time and money. They were great when I first installed them and now they are worthless and my yard is now dark throughout the night. I purchased these to have added security lighting on my home and now I have to hard wire them to bypass these photocells.
