NSI TORK RKP311 Outdoor 120-V Button Photocontrol with Wall Plate

Our outdoor lighting is controlled by a solar switch like this one. We noticed this summer that the lights weren't coming on. The electrician was going to charge us $300 to come out so I decided that I would just replace the solar cell and see if that was the problem (it was once before). Indeed it was and the wiring was straight forward and easy.

Easy to install. Bought 2 one for front yard and one for the back yard. I’ve had both since February 16 and the one in the back yard had issues first. My lights turn on now at random times on random days. I wake up early in the morning when it’s pitch black and my lights are not on. They worked fine for awhile and now my front yard photocell isn’t turning my lights on. Sometimes the lights will randomly come on but most nights nothing. I’m an electrician and I know photocells are suppose to be able to last even in extreme heat or cold weather. I’ve installed several on light poles that have lasted years on end. These are a complete failure. I will look for something else that will be worth my time and money. They were great when I first installed them and now they are worthless and my yard is now dark throughout the night. I purchased these to have added security lighting on my home and now I have to hard wire them to bypass these photocells. Save your money and don’t go cheap.

Works as expected, so far so good after first few weeks. I'll update if it dies soon. The install location is slighty covered by a ledge on the top, it has survived heavy rain couple of times, and made it through close to freezing temperature.

This photo eye works well and is easy to install, but note that there is up to a two minute delay in your device turning on. Price seems a little high but as it works well I would buy it again.

I used these to control outside lighting loads of 0.04 amps. 5 of 6 failed within a week. Replaced with intermatic and no further issues. Very disappointing and cost me 3 hrs labor to replace them.

My previous photo-wall plate stopped working. Unfortunately this meant the alleyway behind my house was dark throughout the nights. In Denver, the vagabonds and nomadic types will collect in the shadows. On several occasions, they would try to use this cover of darkness to relieve themselves. It was a crappy situation. However, like the lord said, "Let there be light." This new wall plate only took a few minutes to install and now our alley is lit up like Hiroshima. Our alleyway has never been so clean. Sensitive photocell for controlling dusk to dawn lighting. I live in Phoenix so I had to make a neutral-density filter to keep the evening sun from prematurely wearing out the sensor. That means it keeps the lights on a little longer than normal but it also keeps the sensor alive for 5 or more years, vs about 2 years without it. The relay is sturdy enough for several hundred watts but use LEDs to keep the load to a reasonable level.

Hasta el momento todo perfecto, llegó 2 días antes, se ve muy buena calidad. Actualizaré con el paso del tiempo. Me gusta que la celda es casi del doble de otros productos iguales de otras marcas. Actualización 1: Funciona muy bien, prende cuando ya es obscuro y apaga con poca luz. 3dta funcionando de excelente manera.
