I found this book at my local Ollie's. I have been looking for ways to stop stressing about past incidents that have occurred in my life, like unpleasant interactions or past mistakes. This book gives 99 guidelines that are basic ways to live life and simplify your life. What I took away from this is to concentrate on myself and stop trying to solve everyone else's problems. This book was written after the COVID-19 pandemic. There are several references to that time period and how people had to be socially distant. The only part that made me reread it over again was the use of the phrase "armchair quarterback". This doesn't seem like a term a monk would use. A great read and reminder to remember what is important: You. #CillasBookManiacs

A peaceful book focused on releasing stress and overthinking through mindful habits. The ideas are simple and repetitive at times, but that adds to its calming nature. A good read for quiet reflection.

Shunmyo Masuno is my hero, and has been since the day I picked up his first book. There are so many lengthy and complicated academic books to improve mental health in this modern world, but actually what Shunmyo provides is a tool to help you reframe your world through his carefully chosen, minimal words, to bring a healthy new perspective to your life. The book is short, which is a testimony to his great ability as a life teacher - only a great teacher can get such perspectives across in so few, yet profound words. I would have benefited from the beautiful illustrations that were seen in the two previous books; Zen The Art of Simple Living, and Don’t Worry, which I have missed not being in this book, but regardless I feel fortunate to have more from Shunmyo to reflect upon. Thank you Shunmyo for writing another book :)

Thoughtful and practical. Great to dip into as every page has something wise.
