It all starts in Crete. Crete, the largest, southernmost island of Greece, is where you can find us. The excellent climate, your wild nature, the pristine lands, your way of life, your farming products are just a few of the advantages of this island. Olive oil is packaged just hours after harvesting olives grown in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of southern Crete in Messara valley, exactly where it is grown. We are in the heart of Crete. Our village is named Tympaki and is located on the far west of Messara Valley and is known for its olive groves and production. People living here are mostly producers. This line of producers dates back to many generations. There is evidence that there was people cultivating the area since the Minoan years, thousands of years ago! The uniqueness of fine-sourced olive oil is primarily attributed to the variety of koroneiki olives and their plethorical features (aroma, color, organoleptic punctuations) found on the island of Crete. Part of a fully integrated system Having total control of the entire production process from harvesting, pressing, storing, and standardizing. I would prefer it to come in glass instead of a metal container, but still feel really good about the quality of this brand so I am now a life long customer. Amazing. And the price is very fair. This is real EVOO. The flavor is fresh and grassy with a pepppery burn at the finish. Aleta also stamps a fresshness date on every can so you know that the contents are not old and rancid. I’ve been buying Aleta for several years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
