robust and flavoursome expedition meal that’s easy to prepare and satisfying on the trail.
The meal pouch feels sturdy and travel-ready, with clear labelling and a compact size that’s ideal for packing on hikes or trips. The dehydrated contents look uniform and free from excess dust, and preparation instructions are easy to follow. It gives a solid first impression for outdoor or emergency use. Once rehydrated, the orzo cooks evenly and the Bolognese sauce has a rich tomato base with discernible herbs and seasoning. Flavour is hearty without being overly salty, and the texture strikes a good balance between chewy and tender. It’s filling and warming, suiting long days outdoors or minimalist cooking. After eating, the portion size feels adequate for a main meal, offering decent energy without excess bulk. Considering its convenience and nutritional focus, it represents good value for backpacking or adventure eating. It’s not a Michelin star chef prepared meal however it’s a reliable, tasty option for outdoor meal planning.

Restaurant Quality in a pouch!..
I purchased this for a one night wild backpack, and although I was a bit dubious about 'add water pouches' I have to say I was astonished!.. the quality is fantastic.. I followed the instructions on the packaging.. and as promised, 15 minutes later I was enjoying a hot, delicious and flavourful meal. Yes, it's a little more expensive than others, and would work expensive on a multi day trip.. but for one or two nights?.. push the boat out and treat yourself.. after a long day in the hills you'll be glad you did.. it's a 10 out of 10 from me Firepot!.. well done!

Simply the best exped food available
This is simply the best expedition/camping food on the market. It’s got no nasty preservatives in it and tastes almost as good as home made food. Its so good I’ve even just broke into one at home when I couldn’t face cooking. More than worth the slightly extra you have to pay for these over lesser brands.

Tried the adding boiled water to the bag and leaving for 15 minutes technique - didn't quite get the pasta soft enough, but very tasty. Will be trying again but heating in the pot this time.

Nothing to stand for it's price
The main downside for this food pack is cooking time: instruction suggests waiting for 15min (which is already a long time) and my pasta stayed crunchy even after 20min. The taste was also below average: if nothing else, this one seems to be hugely undersalted. Overall I feel it's too pricy for the level of satisfaction it brings.
