I’ve been using Revlon Colorsilk for a while, and it never disappoints. The color comes out rich and even, covers my gray hairs well, and leaves my hair looking shiny and soft. The instructions are easy to follow, and the kit includes everything I need. Great quality at an affordable price. I would definitely buy it again.

I absolutely LOVE this! I was a Nice n Easy root touch up user for many, many years and this by far is superior. Not only do you get more product to ensure good coverage, but the color is more vibrant and covers the stubborn grays. It doesn't dry my hair out, and comes with conditioner. For someone with about 80% or more gray hair, it's good for about 4 weeks depending on how often you wash. I use black, so there's a definite difference sooner for me. It doesn't smell bad. The mixture consistency is kind of runny, but not unmanageable. I just wish it had a brush like the NnE kit instead of a bottle with a spout, but I make it work.

I’ve been using this Revlon ColorSilk Black for 3 years, and I truly don’t see myself ever switching to anything else. I'm naturally a dark blonde, and no one believes me when I say it, this dye gives me the deepest, richest black that looks completely natural and dimensional, not flat or blue-tinted like other boxed dyes I've tried in the past. Application is super easy and only takes one round to fully cover my roots. It gives me 100% gray coverage (even when my regrowth is obvious) and blends perfectly without needing to overlap previous color. The best part? My hair still feels healthy, soft, and shiny afterward, which is honestly rare for drugstore permanent dyes. I know hair dressers says black box dye is the devil, but I've gone to Sally's and tried all the swartzkopf and the other brands and the other stuff people recommend. NONE - has beaten the PRICE or the RESULT. I’ve traveled with this, done it myself at home, and even used it before on-location shoots, it always delivers. It doesn’t stain my scalp (if im careful haha) or make my hair feel brittle. The color LASTS without fading and gives a polished, sleek look every time. Works great on “Locs” was looking for a true black color, and this was perfect. Love the jet black color, no blue/purple tints to it. Instructions are super easy to follow and 2 bottles was all I needed from the entire kit to cover all of my thick long hair. It did take much more washing than normal until the water ran clear but I’m sure that has some to do with my hair being so thick. It did its job and I’m impressed. Very easy to do by yourself. Just rubber band all your hair in 4 seperate parts and work in avoiding putting it directly on your scalp. Wear the gloves it come with otherwise your skin will be stained for a few days.

A good price for a three pack - and since if you've got long or thick hair you need more than one bottle of dye anyway, this is a great deal. I forwent the applicator tip and just put the dye onto my gloves, then massaged it into my hair so I've got no comments about that. Doing it the way I did resulted in a relatively mess free application and the most even coverage I've ever had. My hair is all red - from root to tip. The color is vibrant and nice, covering my hair well (for reference, I'm a dark brunette, and my hair is now a burgundy with some vibrant red hues that look like The Little Mermaid). My one complaint is that it's hard to get out and almost a week after application, the shower water still runs a little red. Maybe that's user error. Maybe it's not.

That said, it does stain skin and surfaces pretty easily, so definitely apply some barrier cream or Vaseline around the hairline and wear old clothes when using it. Once you know to prep, it’s manageable, but it’s worth noting for first-timers. Overall, it’s a reliable, affordable option for at-home coloring with salon-level gray coverage. I always keep a box (or three) on hand.
