Liked the roll on applicator. It was helpful with my pain.
I actually bought this by mistake. I did not intend to get the nighttime version. I used it it the day, and no one arrested me! lol. I did like the roll on applicator. The scent was a bit more perfumey than I expected. I guess I was expecting the typical menthol, medicine scent. But it is fine. It is not s strong scent actually. It dried in a few minutes. I did sort of help it dry by rubbing it in a bit before getting dressed. It washed off my hands easily. So just because they call it nighttime recovery, it works in the day, also. I didn't really notice it feeling hot or cold once it dried.

Solid product
Works well, easy to apply, slightly sticky but that’s fine. It smells like icy hot with lavender. Not sure why other reviews were critical. It’s a good product and inexpensive.

As Advertised
Okay, after reading all the reviews here, I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to try this. It was on sale, so I decided to give it a shot. I put it on about 10 minutes ago, and here’s my honest take so far: it is nowhere near as bad as the 1-star reviews make it out to be. Smell: Yes, it smells like lavender—but it’s not overpowering and doesn’t make everything you touch reek. Now, if you’re a guy heading out to a bar, you probably don’t want to smell like lavender any more than you want to smell like Ben-Gay, so don’t use it then. It’s called “nighttime recovery” for a reason. This is medicine, not cologne. That said, the scent isn’t strong, and women would probably find it more pleasant. Some people are just more sensitive to smells, so take those reviews with a grain of salt. For example, I like certain scented wax melts, but my wife says they give her a headache—everyone’s different. Stickiness: Is it sticky? No, not really—at least no more than any other topical product for back pain. It doesn’t feel wet, and my clothes aren’t sticking to it. Going back to the smell: after it “dried,” I ran my finger over the area and could still smell it on my finger, but the menthol-type scent was more noticeable than the lavender. The lavender is still there, but it’s much less obvious now—either it faded or I just got used to it. Application and Effectiveness: The roll-on made it easy to apply to my lower back. Some reviews say it’s neither “icy” nor “hot,” but I started feeling a cooling sensation after about five minutes and still feel it as I write this. There’s no heat, but the cooling effect is definitely present. My pain feels slightly numbed as a result, although I wasn’t having a major flare-up to begin with. I’d say it helps take the edge off, but it’s not a cure. Conclusion: I think it’s worth trying. It’s not the miracle product some 5-star reviews claim, but it’s also nowhere near as bad as the 1-star reviews suggest—unless they received a defective product. If it works for you, buy it again. If it doesn’t, you’re only out a few bucks. Complaints about the smell, stickiness, and similar issues seem pretty overblown to me.

Thumbs Up
This is stronger than most pain relievers and feels great on my back. The girlfriend likes it because she doesn't have to get it on her hands thanks to the applicator. The smell isn't overpowering, and it works fast. Good buy.

Works well and smells good.
Great product and smells good. Works well for pain relief after the gym. Helps me sleep at night because of the nice smell. Easy to apply to my back and other areas. Feels cool on my skin like it’s supposed to and I haven’t personally gotten any side effects.

Easy to use no mess
This really works good. It smells a little loud but I can get pass the smell not to be in pain. Easy to use and not messy. Just roll it on the area you need it.

Works great
This stuff is the only stuff I have found that’s helping with my worry hip while I’m waiting for my replacement surgery. Also helps a tight sore lower back at the end of the day. The roll on applicator is nice too keeping your hands clean.
