As a boater for many years, I've never used more than one filter per flushing system (which has been sufficient). I do change them immediately upon noticing an order. Your boating friends do appreciate your attention to this matter. **Q: Looking to install this inline with my vent hose which is 1.5" inner diameter. Any suggestions on hardware please?** A: There are pvc adapter fittings at most hardware stores to neck down from 1.5 “ to 1/2” hose size .. very easy project to fit this in.. i would ensure that the vent pipe always has an upward slope from the black water tank through the vent filter to the through the hull.. any downward slope will cause a backup of gases which will vent everywhere but though the vent.. **Q: Are these filters directional** A: Greetings, The filters will function in either direction. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works 100% *by M***. on September 27, 2019* In a world where nothing really works, I would have been happy with any improvement to my holding tank smell. But this filter worked 100%. Easy to install. I went from a toxic cloud that swept the dock killing every living thing, every time I flushed, to no smell whatsoever. I was worried at first that the vent was actually plugged by the filter. But confirmed by the slight breeze that air was escaping. It lasted almost exactly one year on my liveaboard boat. Just installed my second one. And, no more chemicals. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superior to and cheaper than Sealand/Dometic ECO Filter *by I***D on May 7, 2019* Works better than the Sealand/Dometic ECO Replacement Cartridge Toilet Vent Filter. Sealand/Dometic use less carbon to save money. In my opinion, they deceive customers by stating "The innovative concave shape of the Dometic ECO filter assures that malodorous gases are completely filtered through activated odor-adsorbing media." What this really means is that they use less carbon by using that shape. The Voker filter is much larger and is completely filled with activated carbon.
