I'm thrilled to share my experience with this egg shapped adaptive foam writing grip; it's been a lifesaver for me. As someone with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and tremors, my handwriting has deteriorated significantly over the years. Simple tasks and enjoyable hobbies, like writing, drawing, painting, and crocheting, have become painful and frustrating. Ehlers-Danlos Syndroms (EDS) causes my joints to pop out of joint and hyperextend, leading to pain and fatigue in my hands. The smaller the pen or pencil, the more my fingers hurt. I've tried using fat, ergonomic pens in the past, but many trade writing/ink quality for ergonomics, and they're always more expensive. I found pens shaped like egg-shaped bulbs, which worked great in my hand. However, they were costly and only lasted a few weeks. That's when I discovered these amazing foam adapters, shaped like eggs – just like the pens! They're a game-changer because I can use them on more than just pens; I can use them on various pens, pencils, crayons, paintbrushes, crochet hooks, and even knitting needles. The bulb-shaped design is the most effective I've found. It allows my fingers to grasp the utensil without locking into painful positions or dislocating. This is better than a normal thicker cushioned pen because the bulb allows the hand to rest rather than collapse on itself, maintaining a neutral position. Another benefit is that, since I'm not holding the pen as tightly, my tremors don't activate as much, making it easier to write. The adapters are easy to use – simply slide them onto the writing utensil. One minor drawback is that the hole through the foam may not accommodate very thick pens. I bought these Egg Pen-Pencil Grips for Kids to assist my son with writing due to a injury and cast limiting his mobility. This was exactly what we needed for him to be able to be more independent as they added the extra support and circumference allowing him to avoid awkward ergonomics or discomfort. We had tried another type of pencil grip that had more of a ergonomic contour, but it did not add enough girth to the pencil so did not work for him. I would highly recommend these pencil grips for a child having difficulties writing with their dominate hand that is casted.

Great size, and great for my students that press too hard on their pencils. Allows them to grip without too much pressure and works especially well for hypermobility. These are so well designed and durable, and survived in my classroom so well I ordered a few more and they are wonderful. Wish there were more colors so kids had a few more choices, but they love that they can pick their own color and write their name on them without the ink rubbing off, definitely more fun than the weird pinky/yellow ones I used to have. Definitely worth the price.

I've used these for a year or two, and they really do help. Reusable and a boon for those of us with arthritis who cannot hold a pen/pencil for hours. Good for writing, of course, but great for those who enjoy puzzles.

These do not fit even the thinnest pen I own, so its a little misleading to call them pen grips in the title. I guess its a little on me for not doing more research into them. They fit pencils fine. I managed to get them onto my pens by drilling into them with a scissor blade and scraping some of the material away. They are comfortable once you get them on though. I write with a hypermobility grip that was starting to put major strain on my thumb. I got these to help correct my hold. They allow me to hold my pens the correct way while still feeling I have good support to write with. If you use pencils regularly for writing or drawing, these are an affordable, solid grip. If you use pens though, try looking for alternatives.

Very happy I tried these! They do take some getting used to, but now I can’t imagine writing, sketching, painting or colouring without them! I have arthritis and fibromyalgia which make holding small objects difficult, and I tend to grip way too tightly as well. Once I got used to using these, writing became much easier and I actually started journaling again! I have them everywhere now, in my art studio, by my colouring supplies…so happy I bought them and took the time to get used to them.
