Does it work with little to no skill? Yes. You simply blow and say "caw" at the same time. Do crows answer or get curious? Yes, about half the time. Does it sound realistic? Sort of. It is loud but it has a reedy sound and if you don't caw fast enough it sounds like a sick duck. But it's very easy to use and with (no joke) younger crows you have a decent chance. Older crows are downright brilliant, and wary, and will ignore this call or not get close enough.

I've actually gone through a few different Crow Calls and all of the others just sounded like Weird Duck Calls not really like a Crow. This one Blows all the others i've tried out of the Waterrr!!! It's very Intuitive Design allows you to just place your Teeth on the different Bites on the tip so you can have 3 different Calls. Young/Distress, Juvenile and Adult. The Adult Crow Call sounds EXACTLY like an Adult Crow. Once I got this guy in I just Quit looking for other Calls to try. I found the One. Big Ups to Haydel's Calls, Job Well Done!!!

I feed a group of crows daily and use this to let them know breakfast is served. They fly in quickly after I call them. Caw caw!! Well made and will last forever.

Bought it as a gift for someone who is obsessed with crows. It looked really good in the pictures and product description. It was shown packaged in a clamshell plastic and very secure. What showed up was a cardboard advertisement with resembled the one in the picture but it and the call itself were loose in a plastic bag. Definitely not going to be gifting it after all.

Saves a lot of false learning problems when you watch instruction videos. Also, look up all you can on how American crows communicate with each other. They are not dumb.... they know the difference between a kid squaking on a noise maker, and a person that finally gets the tone right and the cadence of the calls properly spaced. Now the fun part of finding all the food items they like, and slowly getting them to trust you.
