Great item for your kitchen
I like to purchase my bread from our local warehouse store. Since they don’t sell it sliced, it’s difficult to cut uniform slices as narrow or as wide as I’d like. We had an older bread slicer but the slicing blade had worn out and was tearing the bread to shreds. Unfortunately, additional slicing blades were not available for this old slicer. I found this OSTBA meat slicer which comes with 2 different disks, one is a serrated blade which works great for hard crusted bread and the other is a smoother blade for meats and cheeses. It works great and OSTBA offers additional blades for purchase so, hopefully, I’ll have this slicer for many years. It is made of metal and plastic, appears very sturdy and has suction cups to stabilize it while cutting. I recommend this slicer which has many uses in the kitchen.

an excellent machine!
I bought this machine because I was tired of slicing chicken cutlets from breast and pre-sliced was twice the price. Doing the math this machine will pay for itself this summer just on chicken, beef and pork slicing. The machine comes with everything you need and sets up in one minute literally - all preassembled. Remove packing materials carefully including silicone blade protector and two small black top and bottom blade protectors. Wipe down the machine, but no need to super sterilize it especially if you wash your sliced meat pre and post slicing which you absolutely always should to avoid things like salmonella and cross contamination to other foods by touch. I prefer to use disposable latex/vinyl gloves to avoid having to wash my hands a hundred times and damage my skin especially as I go from one ingredient to another. Made my first batch of chicken cutlets last night and it was an absolute breeze cutting my work time by 2/3rds - amazing!!! all I can say about that. Post use wiping and cleaning the machine is a bit of a chore and you need to be sure to either remove the blade carefully or clean it mounted carefully. It is razor sharp and will do you damage if careless. Net-net this machine is worth every penny and I highly recommend it for anyone who cooks often and has a practical use for it. I certainly do at least 4-5 times a week and this is a winner to slice anything. Overall relatively compact and easy to store.

Love the slicer, but the plastic guard is flimsy.
Great product for the price. Slices through meats, etc. easily and is very easy to clean. The machine itself is metal and well made. I subtracted a star because the meat pusher (not sure the proper term) is poorly made. It is cheap plastic and could easily break.

best slicer i ever bought since the 80`s
pretty quiet cuts even blade is pretty sharp the tray you stick the meat on to slice, goes back 7inches. i think most only go back 5 inches has a meat tray that comes with it to catch the meat/cheese, whatever. really nice addition you can shred meat or cut it really thin. so far its the best one i ever bought and i been buying home slicers since the 80`s. its not that heavy either. its not a pound but maybe 5lbs [ gallon of milk weight ] this machine is raised off the countertop by suction cups so the tray fits under it. they work great the bar that holds where you place the meat for slicing, comes off with the tray, nice feature for cleaning it after.

YES you can shave lunchmeat and eat it too!
We have sliced about 18lbs of Lebanon Bologna with ours. That is a variety of softer-than-average salami originating in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. It is also more delicious than average and not available where we live... mailorder to the rescue. So, we needed a slicer. We were afraid we couldn't slice thin enough, but yes we can with this slicer. Being a home-model, it isn't going to be fast but it wasn't bad. There is a handle to select thickness. It has millimeter markings but there are no 'notches' so the adjustments are infinite within standard thicknesses. Just slice your meat. Want it thinner? Adjust it thinner. We adjust by eye, take a slice, repeat if necessary. Really easy. Read directions well. We bought a tube of food-grade silicone lubricant and lubed any place behind the blade that looked like it might need it. WASH it before 1st use. Some people have mentioned that they sliced a piece of food only to see something black come off on the food. If that happens, wash the VERY SHARP BLADE again. I believe it has something to do with the manufacturing of blades. Wash them from the middle outwards. We have only used the straight blade so far. There is also a serrated blade with ours. It's a good-looking, useful machine. We found the glossy plastic and metal parts easy to clean. Seems to be reasonably durable, so far. We are very happy with this purchase.

I'm not a fan
I was not impressed. While some of this machine is actually metal--such as the blade--most of it is chrome plated or plastic: the blade gear, the carriage rail, the food pusher. In other words, all the parts you have to clean are not set up to be durable. This slicer has issues slicing cheese, meat, cabbage, and even bread. When pushing the carriage through the blade, the blade slows down significantly. The back of the slicer actually bends back making it impossible to shave thin slices. The on switch is difficult to operate because of the angle of the safety latch. While slicing, the suction feet do not hold firmly on the counter. It walks across the area dropping debris and sliced food as it goes. The tray does not catch the food as it is sliced. At best, it sits beside the slicer on the counter looking pretty but useless. Cleaning this is difficult. While the blade and carriage are removable, crumbs, juices, and debris go everywhere including areas difficult to reach including under the size-slice-adjustment mechanism and around the suction feet. While this slicer is an affordable option, I returned it for its lack of sturdiness, difficulty cleaning, and plastic components.

Do not waste your money this does not slice
I purchased this in advance of my need and didn’t use until after the return date. What is not in the information is you should only use the slicer for 5 minutes then allow to cool for 30 minutes. In those 35 minutes I can slice more than the machine without the excessive cleanup time. Evidently because of the Sleek Design, the motor is encased and overheats. The major use for me was to be vegetables and the main one, carrots which I started with. The instructions state to cut lengthwise. Who does that? But you would need to cut a carrot in half to do that. Cutting them into slices doesn’t work well unless cutting them very thin because the housing pushes the slice away from the blade but doesn’t allow the slice space so it breaks the slice in half. The only way to avoid that is to make the slices very thin or only use carrots under 3/4 inch in diameter. The thin cutting blade bends as it cuts so binds up. Clean up is difficult. Pulling off the blade I found many small pieces of carrot in the gears which took extra time to clean and was caused by the bending of the blade allowing pieces to get between the blade and housing. Based on the instructions, meats cannot be cut if frozen and if not firm it states to partially freeze. Basically if you want to make potato chips or slice some cheese thin, great but do it in under 5 minutes then be ready to spend much more time cleaning. Not sure what I am to do with this machine but save your money.

Great slicer
Works great! Wish there was a little more metal in the construction, but smoothly/evenly cuts semi-frozen beef!

Impressed for the price.
For 120$ I’m quite impressed. I switched to the smooth blade. I haven’t tried the serrated blade. It cut semi hard cured meat consistent thickness, I had it set to 1mm and it cut quite well. Getting paper thin slices was a bit more of a challenge but that can be user error. We tried moist cheese it worked well. I tried it and said if I didn’t like it I would return it. We are keeping this. The cons the blade is a bit of a challenge to put back on and get seated in the gears. all the gears are plastic. For occasional use it would likely be ok it’s not something I would use daily. The suction feet don’t work that well. But it was easy enough to hold and cut. Sometimes the meat gets jammed behind the blade. I had it happen a couple of times. A mild annoyance but it beats cutting with a knife. Cleaning can be a bit of chore. I wiped it down and used food grade sanitizer on all contact surfaces.

Excellent purchase .
Excellent slicer to make life easier, being able to cut meat in an easy and fast way. The truth is that I loved it because of how practical it is. This slicer has a thickness that allows you to adjust to the thickness you want. It can be used for different products with cutting precision. It has stainless steel blades and can be easily cleaned. I loved this purchase because of how versatile it is.
