Very good for Music AND Theater
The media could not be loaded. Dont allow the limited advertisements to fool you, this company knows how to make a top notch product. They want and need customers. HT/1205 Is an incredible value. They released this product for you because they know the statistics. They want to make Enthusiasts happy who dont want to spend more than 600 USD for a Subwoofer. This product will blow you away with its accuracy, sub-sonic clarity, and crossover functionality even with the RCA connections for music and home theater. Deep and clean. Enjoy!Almost 2 year update: The sub is incredible, for music and theater you can freely and extremely accurately tune the crossover. It has a highly sensitive crossover combined with power and carbon. Still an amazing value, and build quality is (#1). You will Never ever ever go back once you go to Rel!!

The rel deal!
Holy smoke what a great sub. It is clear with so much power! I use it in a room which is 210 square feet and it is massive in this space. I use it at 30% capacity and it makes the room shake. This is not just powerful but refined. I go from listening to the latest Science Fiction movie to classical music and this sub plays both equally. Almost too powerful for my size room. Ideal for something 250-400 sq ft. Material is wonderful and everything feels of quality. Thrilled with the purchase. These guys know their business!

Audio vs Video
I picked up this sub primarily for music with movies and such coming in a distant second. It's understandable that movies work with this speaker beautifully. Music works out well to an extant. I'm a unrepentant audiophile. I wanted a 2nd sub for my system for an even sonic presentation. It get's down to the very bottom frequencies big time (for T-Rex roars)....but the upper low frequencies are non existent. My $3000 Velodyne picks up all of that.......but for $900.........I'm happy for what it does.

Decent for music
I have KEF LS50 Wireless2 and the REL T9x in bedroom and enjoy the precision of the REL. I also have Klipsch RP-8000F in my home office with SVS SB-2000 and hated the sub - the bass response was sloppy - the SVS punches hard but it droned, never sounding precise. I finally moved the SVS to a different room and picked up this REL HT1205 for the office. After a few weeks of listening, I can say the REL is more restrained, but almost anemic in comparison to the SVS. Frustrated, I picked up another HT1205 for a dual REL setup for my office and adjusted the gain up a bit and set the low pass at ~80Hz. I have to further dial it in but the sounds is much richer now - not as tight as the T9x but there’s definitely a lot of depth to the bass. The cost of dual HT1205, however, now approach that of a single T9x so it really becomes a subjective measure of what is more important: sonic balance from having two subs or the control/punch of a single T9x. Since I have the precision of the T9 in my bedroom, I’m opting for the depth and broader bass response of the dual HT1205 in the office.

Big waste of money.
The subwoofers are not worth the money. A 10in Polk audio sub will blow two of the real ht 1205 subwoofers away. They miss a lot of bass notes as well. My KLH 6in drivers put out more Bass.

The musical sub for home theater
I wanted a sub that would enhance the music of my bookshelf speakers AND provide some boom for TV and movies. This is it! I made a mistake using the LFE input at first but after watching several REL videos I switched to the low level input and became more pleased with the integration of the bookshelf speakers and musical presentation. I've got this in a 15x15' bedroom for now and it fullfills my desires very nicely. In a few weeks I will try it in a 15x35' family room with large tower speakers that already have 4 subwoofer drivers and I expect it to nicely fill in only the lowest notes. A shout out to Adorama for making the purchase process especially pain-free. This is my second purchase from that fine company.

Very good for music
Easily blends into music using just LFE connection and 60 Hz crossover, high quality build, looks expensive.
