I don't know for sure- but I would guesstimate about 20-40 ft?

Is this an appropriate sz for a 5 year old girl??

I would say this toy is more for 7-8 year old kids but Quiver is easy to operate and very light... 5 year old should be able to enjoy it as well

What type of wood is it made of?

Everything is pine, but the bow arm is flexible bamboo.

We want to use this as a prop, is it possible to put together but leave out a piece so it doesn't actually shoot?

For it to shoot, you need to pull the string to trigger it. Unfortunately, the string is a vital part of the set up. You can leave out your arrow if you want.
