My 9-year-old is a Lego kid. This was all he wanted for his birthday. It kept him busy for about 5 hours which is impressive for a kid this experienced with Lego. He had no trouble building it independently and he was really happy with this. Pleased with my purchase.

Got this for my sons birthday and he absolutely loved it. He had it built in a day but he has built stuff out of legos since he could figure it out. I was shocked with how big it actually was. My son had a blast building it.

He set his sights on Zane’s Ultra Combo Mech, and honestly, seeing him earn this through his own discipline made the build even more special. At just 7 years old, taking on a set with over 1,000 pieces was a daunting task, but he was determined. ​The Build Experience ​It took some time—he didn't rush it, which I really appreciated. He broke it down into sessions, and seeing his face light up as the four separate vehicles (a mech, a jet, a tank, and a driller) started to take shape was priceless. ​The highlight for him was definitely the Minifigures. He is a huge Ninjago fan, so having Zane, Jay, and Kai, along with the various villain characters, made the "play-ability" instant. He wasn't just building a model; he was building a story. ​The Pros: Why He Loves It ​The "Combo" Factor: The fact that it’s a 4-in-1 build is genius. He loved building the individual parts and then "docking" them together to create the giant Ultra Mech. ​Character Accuracy: The Ninjago characters are spot-on, and the flag/banner system included in these sets adds a nice "collectible" feel for the kids. ​Sense of Achievement: Finishing a 1,000+ piece set gave him a massive boost in confidence. ​The Cons: A Few "Fragile" Moments ​While the finished product looks incredible, I have to be honest about the stability. There were a few sections—specifically around the joints and some of the smaller decorative attachments—that felt a bit fragile. ​Not "Battle-Proof": If your kid likes to play "rough" with their builds, be prepared to help them snap pieces back on. ​Precision Required: Some of the connection points for the four vehicles are a little finicky. It took a bit of trial and error for his smaller hands to get everything to click perfectly without another piece falling off. ​Final Verdict ​Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Despite a few parts not being as "rock-solid" as some other LEGO builds, the joy it brought my son was worth it. It’s a beautiful, complex set that looks great on his shelf and even better in action. ​If you have a young Ninjago fan who is doing well in school and needs a challenge, I can recommend this enough. Just keep the instruction manual handy for those accidental "re-attachments!"
