Gelco GSeat Ultra Pressure Cushion

A very expensive cushion but having been fitted with a catheter I found any sitting position pretty uncomfortable. This completely solved the problem and I am able to drive and sit on any ordinary chair for lengthy periods.The only trouble is that it is very easy to forget. I have left it in a Pizza Express, the London Tube and on a train and each time someone has called me back. I now clip it to myself on a short bit of string when using on public transport! It folds up very neatly leaving you with a half size cushion with a handle, or it will slip into the standard supermarket shopping bag. Brilliant product and worth every penny.

If because of a medical condition you need a comfortable cushion this may not be suitable for you , I found it to be too firm and have not been able to use it which has been a complete waste of my money

Comfortable enough, but does not offer me much relief for my prostate condition.

I'm not 100% sure why it didn't work for my chronic prostatitis, but my feeling is that it was too soft. This meant that as I sunk into it I had more of my perineal region in contact with the cushion which is where I need to remove pressure from to ease the pain.Personally what I have found better is to use a foot stool to raise my knees which causes weight to be shifted back from the perineal region.

This is as good as the majority of users say it is - that is, excellent. Having tried all manner of home furnishing type cushions, none of which was completely suitable, I was persuaded to invest in one of these. It has the characteristics a prostatitis sufferer needs - firm support either side with a well placed "well" to relieve the perineum area of pressure. It fits easily on most chairs and car seats and is easily carried around. My wife made me a simple loose cover to conceal the rather austere appearance of the cushion. The price seems high at first but believe me it is well worth it for the relief it brings. Also, I rarely need to take painkillers for prostatitis now.

Didn't work for my Chronic Prostatitis. It was just as painful to sit using this cushion as it was to sit without it.

Ok, so a bit expensive but a massive help to me - especially for driving long distances.Update...after a period of use, it flattens out a bit and loses some of its support.Guess it depends on your weight and #hours use...I'd say this was great in year1, but now after 2 years it has really flattened out.Update Nov 2021 - I have bought three of these in 6 years...
