Vegans and vegetarians everywhere will have the best holiday period ever with Gaz Oakley's fantastic alternatives to the traditional turkey and trimmings. Gaz is an expert in bold flavors and textures, so everyone can enjoy a spectacular centerpiece and amazing food throughout the festive season. Gaz talks you through the menus and the planning, from Christmas morning breakfast like Sweet Potato Waffles and Tofu Benedict, through to a show-stopping lunch with the likes of Ultimate Christmas Wellington, "Turkey" Roast and Festive Nut Roast Wreath served with all the trimmings: "No Pigs" in Blankets, Hasselback Potatoes and Fluffy Yorkshire Puddings – all rounded off with spectacular dairy-free desserts including Boozy Tiramisu and "Brioche" Bread and Butter Pudding. There are vegan versions of mince pies, Pavlova, and even a "cheese" board for after! And it's not just about the big day: Gaz offers a supreme spread of party food for when you're celebrating with guests - Mini Sausage Rolls, Sticky BBQ "Ribs" and Arancini, among many others, plus ideas for leftovers including Christmas Curry and Gyros. Packed with suggestions for the festivities and advice on how to keep cool in the kitchen if you're cooking on the big day, Vegan Christmas Cookbook offers every solution you'll ever need for what to cook for vegans and vegetarians at Christmas. Review: Creative Vegan Holiday Food - Some of the recipes are complicated but others are fairly simple. All are good examples of how to make vegan food taste absolutely delicious. I haven't made all of the recipes and probably will never make the Streaky Bacon that is the first recipe in the book but I did make the rice paper bacon which was very good. I like Gaz's newest cookbook, Plants Only Kitchen, better because the recipes are easier. But this cookbook is still a 5 in my opinion because of the creativity of the recipes and the WOW factor in presentation. I'll be making some of these recipes for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I'm very sure that even the meat eaters in my family will enjoy them. Review: This book exceeded my expectations! - This cookbook is knocking my socks off! I've already made a few of the recipes in advance for ease and extra hiking time on Thanksgiving day, and I think this will be the best Thanksgiving ever, vegan or not! First off, I made the parsnip vanilla soup. Delicately flavored and, hands down, my new favorite way to enjoy parsnips (a food that I would never have gone out of my way to eat, previously). This soup is so good, that I'm thinking of making ahead and freezing for guests at Christmas-time. They are staunchly not vegan, but it's that good, that I think, even they will enjoy it. Next I made the cranberry sauce and nut roast filling. I love it even more than the soup. It's simply amazing. The flavors both meld beautifully together AND stand out. It's really remarkable. I've never liked homemade cranberry sauce, until now. (I was canned, cranberry jelly girl, before this recipe!) my roommate, who up until now hated cranberry sauce, was begging me for more. And he's very picky! I have my nut roast tightly wrapped in the fridge and I am really looking forward to cooking it day of. I'm also planning on making Welsh rarebit, to serve alongside the soup after a nice hike, and I'm making the stuffing and orange glazed carrots, to accompany the main event. Oh, and I'm making gravy day of, as well. I'm REALLY looking forward to trying these recipes. This book surpasses my expectations. The recipes are next level. Some may take a little time and care but the results are well worth it. None have been difficult, just time consuming to chop ingredients. I could probably use better knives, so they may go faster once I upgrade.

Showstopping Pictures and Recipes!
First of all, the pictures in this cookbook are gorgeous and inspiring. I find that many cookbooks do not have enough pictures, leaving me to guess the outcome of the final product. Not this book! There are many, many pictures of beautiful vegan food! Second, I plan on bringing THE star dish to holiday gatherings this year. As a vegan, I am tired of being relegated to eating a green salad and cranberry sauce during Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Therefore, I decided that this year I am going to bring several of my own dishes, no matter what the host says. That way, family and friends will realize that vegan cooking can be beautiful and delicious. My goal is for them to come back for seconds!

VEGAN BUT NOT GLUTEN FREE RECIPES
Lovely unique recipes you can use for entertaining. BUT, I didn’t know his entree “meats” depended on vital wheat gluten, when I’m allergic to conventional wheat products. I’ll use the other ideas though and I do have an alternative to vital wheat gluten which I can try. I’ve already bought a ring form for the “nutty wreath” recipe which could be a really unusual item to bring to a pot-luck.

Wonderful Vegan Recipes!
I am five years into the vegan lifestyle for health as well as philosophical reasons. That said, I never quite achieved an acceptable vegan "roast beef" until I followed the Christmas recipe (used all year long now) in this wonderful cookbook. Each and every recipe is special. I have purchased many cookbooks in my journey - some will be given away. This book is in the top five of the ones I use all the time. Bravo! Most of all, thank you!

Vegan Options for Christmas Dinner
You Tubers love Gaz Oakley! He is a super sweet, genuine human being with an absolute passion for cooking. He does not compromise his menus because he cooks vegan. I made his Butternut Squash Roast for Thanksgiving and it was delicious. It definitely had that perfect "presence" for a Christmas dinner table centerpiece. Gaz puts a lot of love and thought into his recipes. There are some gluten free options in this book (however, we are harassing him for more GF food options) as seitan (vital wheat gluten) is becoming a main-stay in vegan cooking (it mimicks the texture of meat and is somewhat satisfying but for celiacs and gluten sensitive people, it limits our options). I also have Gaz's first book and recommend that one too. Way to go Gaz! Looking forward to more of your cookbooks in the years to come.

Rekommenderas.
