My wife ordered this thinking it was Korean. When it arrived it had a very nice flavor, like a mild cayenne. This is nice. Nothing to write home about, but nice. I scanned the packaging and processed and packaged in Korea. But closer examination revealed it is grown in China to keep costs down!! We try as much as we can to NOT buy things made in China. And definitely nothing grown in China. We can't trust ANYTHING GROWN in China after the melamine purposely mixed in dog foods and sold in the USA to pet food producers. Both our dogs were adversely affected by that. Melamine was added to raise the protein levels. But is toxic to animals. Plus, China is one of the most polluted countries in the world! And since they don't accept returns on this, we're stuck with this, so were going to use it as compost. (Not sure that is a good idea). We are really disappointed. Too bad we didn't read the description and Q&A closely enough. Shame on us! We learned a lesson!!

I had always made kimchi with substitute and am glad I ordered this product.

This product appears to have been "cut" (mixed) with something else other than pepper. Take a clear container, fill with water and put 2-3 tablespoon full of the product. The powder sinks to the bottom immediately! Yuk! This troubles me after finding out the China origin (instead of Korea). You cannot return the product!! Zero star. Health risk, if you ask me. I'm putting it in the trash.
