Review: Excellent food - Flavorful and crunchy addition to my food.
Review: Yes, you will have to rinse and sort bulk food. Taste requires effort - I love freekeh, and it has grown harder to find (and now that bulk foods are off limits, impossible). The Ziyad is fine, flavorful. It does need rinsing, and more than once (and bulk freekeh needs that too). Most dried foods do. This was more money than it should have been (about twice as much), but during this Pandemic, it's not absurdly overpriced. I haven't found a satisfying substitute (Bulgar almost works....but lacks that smoky bit) so I'll be back.

**Q: Can you use this to make bread?**
A: In my experience, this is a grain to be cooked and served as a side dish or as a basis for a main dish with additions. I supposed one might add a small bit of cooked freekeh to the conventional dough of a bread you're baking in order to add some texture, but as an inveterate bread baker, I don't see how one can use it as a main dough. But who knows, perhaps someone else has a different take on this.

**Q: How long does it take to cook and should I expect all the liquid to be absorbed?**
A: You can sink it in water for half hour before u cook it , it will cook faster, it take about hour maybe

**Q: Where is it made?**
A: It's a product from Turkey and distributed by a company in Illinois.

**Q: is this grain gluten free?**
A: Freekeh is a wheat product.  Wheat contains gluten.

I love freekeh, and it has grown harder to find (and now that bulk foods are off limits, impossible). The Ziyad is fine, flavorful.
