Review: An Essential Product - My current build could not exist without this device. For 16 3.0 ports, there is no beating this price when you consider the ease of organization and the reliable connection that these provide. My PC is mounted on the wall, and this hub is connected to my PC via a 30 FT USB-B to USB-C connector. The 90W power supply makes it easy to charge peripherals and also doesn't feed off the PC at all, so functionality is all there; the product is extremely stable...I've never had any issues using this. I used to have the 10 port Sabrent hub, and I had the same praises for that...but of course as time goes on, I found new gadgets to play with and needed more slots. I will say, the added weight does feel great to hold, and the material feels very nice to hold, as it's kind of a brushed metal and feels very premium.
Review: Solved my Flash Drive bulk cloning problem! - I needed to make 400 clones of a flash drive. First I bought a $250 duplicator unit from DupliM (which was a disaster) and then I tried using this Sabrent device in conjunction with a free software applicaton (imageUSB from Passmark Software). Does EXACTLY the same job, but without the erratic behavior and random error messages, all for ONE THIRD of the price, and sixteen ports instead of just ten. This solution is just as slow as the DupliM device, but as long as you're not in a huge hurry, it's a lifesaver! Certainly way easier to set up 25 batches than to manually copy to 400 USB flash drives. I can't comment on the performance in more typical situations, since I'm only using it to make multiple flash drive clones, but it seems decent. Everything seems to work as it should. Seems well made, too.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what's the different between the one with the external power adapter and the one without?**
A: With my USB 3 Ports on my Acer TC-780 front panel ports, I can power all four ports with thumb drives. When I tried the same with a Dell U473D Slim Multimedia Keyboard with 2 USB Port I had to use the pawer supply that came with the HB-UMP3 4-port Powered USB hub.

I would advise getting the powered hub because you don't know if your USB port will support enough devices without the power supply unit.

**Q: How many ports can I have active at one time, without overloading the single port of the computer?**
A: actually, while you can theoretically link 127 devices, there is a limitation to the depth or hiearchy you can link hubs (which is 7). In many systems (particularly windows) you may find that the hub controller in the pc can consumer 2 or 3 of those tiers. While that's likely not an issue for most, I've run into a problem when I link a 7 port hub into a KVM switch -- I get an error message stating that the system can not see some devices (because the actual 7 port hub actually contains 2 usb controllers and the kvm switch contains 2 controllers). Suffice it to say -- this is a rare occurrence -- just don't daisy chain a bunch of 4 port hubs together if you run out of ports -- get a hub with more ports

**Q: How long is USB3 cable?**
A: measured mine at about 1 meter. I really like this thing. The two red high-power only ports are oriented 180 degrees from the USB 3.0 ports so you physically can't mix them up either.

**Q: Will using a 7 usb 3.0 hub ultimately put next to no strain on my motherboard because power is being generated from the AC adapter?**
A: I 5 Gigabyte Motherboard with powerful Intel processor, 16 Ram has moor paver than standard PC. I don't think the hub would help. However, some software might. I will look this up in the later date.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Significantly decreased desktop clutter.
*by A***R on January 22, 2022*

Until now, I was using 2 usb hubs. One was a 2.0, the other was a 3.0. both were 4 port hubs. I never understood why sometimes data transfer was way faster than other times. Sometimes my phone would barely charge. The answer of course is that 2.0 hubs, ports and cables are about 10 times slower than 3.0 cables, hubs and ports. A 2.0 device will not be harmed by plugging it into a 3.0 port or hub. The device determines how much current to draw. A 3.0 cable plugged into a 3.,0 port also can carry significantly more current than 2.0. PROBLEM: My wireless keyboard and mouse connection became intermittent. I tried plugging the dongle into several different USB ports without success. I googled the problem again, (two days later) and saw a post about plugging the dongle into a port on the other side of the computer (laptop). I switched the dongle into a port on the other side of my desktop tower. SUCCESS!! Apparently, the problem is not is not in the hub, it is a USB conflict. My guess is that there are at least two USB buses in most laptops and my desktop. Switching the dongle to a different bus solved the conflict problem. If I ever realized that I was using a both a 2.0 and a 3.0 hub, I had forgotten. Now, I have one hub with plenty of ports. It is a great connivence to be able to simply turn a hub port on or off when removing or plugging in a new device. Buying this hub was a really good decision. Time will tell how well it holds up. I really like the of being able to turn individual port on and off. I have a Western Digital 4 TB drive a 2 TB drive and two 32 to 500 GB sd cards connected, in addition to 3 usb cables used primarily to recharge devices. They all work flawlessly. Time will tell the story about how long this hub lasts and customer service. I did take the time to register the hub which extended the warranty by a couple of years.
