VIPERTEK VTS-T03 Aluminum Stun Gun for Self Defense Rechargeable with LED Flashlight, Black

Great item! Had another set of these for over ten years and they still work. Decided to get some new ones to replace them but the old ones are still reliable.

Perfect for walking my dog early in the morning and after dark. We have coyotes in our area that come out during that time of the day so we have to be extra careful. This is perfect. The flash light is nice and bright and goes a long distance.

I purchased 3 different stun guns: the Vipertek T03, Vipertek VTS881, and the Termintor Ultra High Voltage Stun Gun flashlight. The T03 is definitely the most powerful and intimidating. Its built like a tank. I honestly trust it to carry at night to walk my dogs. I had been attacked by a pitbull before, so i needed something to carry, and i feel safer with the T03. The flashlight is also quite powerful, legitimately 200-300 lumens. The 881, also made by Vipertek is very small and compact, but also solidly built and packs a pretty nasty electrical arc and crackling sound, only slightly less than the T03. Now, the Terminator feels like very cheap plastic, and seemed quite weak. Barely any sound or spark. Granted I didnt charge it all the way yet, but it feels like it will break. Even if it was fullly charged, I still don't think i would feel safe with it. If the construction is that cheap, I dont have confidence it will perform when needed. But im thoroughly impressed with the viperteks. I researched these things for weeks before making a decision. I was going to get a stun baton, but they are too big to walk around the neighborhood with. After firing up the T03, i dont think i would need the baton. The spark and crackle alone will probably drive any animal away. My own dog was kind if traumatized just hearing it when i hit the button. Get the T03 if you like the flashlight style, or the 881 if you like the smaller style to carry in your purse or pocket. Once again, I prefer and absolutely love the T03. And you cant go wrong for the price. Its a ridiculous value.

Seems to be ok quality and works good. It did come with the tape peeling off but I carefully stuck it back on. Don't know if it could stop someone attacking me lol. We'll see if it lasts.

I've had several of these over the years and will continue to buy VIpertek products. Well built products. An excellent means of self defense. Almost had to use it once but the Crack of the spark when I pushed the button was all it took. I own 3 , one for each car & one for the house. Not a toy!

Very happy to find this product on Amazon because it is replacing a similar product I purchased at a smoke shop for 29.99. The competing product did not come with a holster which is one of the reasons I lost it and was searching for a replacement. The light on this is very good for the size and it's great that you can recharge it. The only con is that the charge cable is a little unique however it is the same one that I had with the competing flashlight. So if you've ever owned one of these flashlight stun guns before like me then the charge cable will likely work for this as well. Part of me hopes to one day update this review to tell you how well the stun feature actually works but then the other part of me hopes I never have to use it. I can tell you that one time I just barely depressed the button and it slightly brushed against my skin and it hurt like hell. Like this was about the smallest amount of contact for the shortest amount of time you could get and it was not pleasant. The holster itself is nothing special and at this price point I was not expecting much. I think this is a bargain with or without the holster but I do use a different holster that is almost just as expensive as this product by itself. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for some piece of mind and extra protection that serves a dual purpose.

MAJOR flaw that you have to turn off the flashlight to use the Stun Mode meaning that in the dark you can't see the person/dog/whatever that you are trying to stun. There is no indicator letting you know it is "armed" so... you have to know the device intimately to be able to switch modes and activate. I hate giving it only three stars since the price is so good. But, for what it is supposed to be used for, I think it's not very effective. The flashlight itself is less bright than I would have expected, which is a shame. Smaller headlamps with less battery produce far more light. That being said, it is useful as a flashlight and the device claims it stays on for an absurd amount of time when fully charged. The manual raises some concerns (Pictured) - it says DON'T OVERCHARGE but it gives you no LED indicator of when it is fully charged. Says 10 hours to fully charge from empty I assume but it came with some charge so it's a guessing game how long to charge it. More concerns in the manual about how easy it is to ruin (Don't Zap for more than 1 Second unless you are actively sending the current into something IE a person.) HOWEVER - there aren't many better options (I've spent time on this) that have as good a reliability and customer rating. The more expensive ones with far better features have terrible quality/reliability reviews. I'm waiting for someone to make a decent baton/stun/flashlight combo. MY ADVICE TO BUYERS - Practice the hell out of using this thing so you can quickly and efficiently switch modes in a stressful situation. Switch to "Stun" give a warning zap (that can stop a dog), Switch to Flashlight, assess, or IF ATTACKED zap the attacker, then switch to flashlight. Assess. Repeat as needed. AND/OR Bring a second flashlight so you can keep an eye on the attacker with the VIPERTEK in Stun Mode. My ADVICE TO MANUFACTURERS - For goddsakes, make one of these where the flashlight stays on while in Stun mode. Have an LED Indicator so we KNOW it's in stun mode, and make one that is longer or telescoping so you can have some separation from your attacker. Most of us use this at night for protection agains an aggressive dog. I don't want to have to bend over and reach out toward snapping jaws to stun an attacking dog. Often an attacking dog is attacking MY DOG, so it's nearly impossible to reach out and get a stun in with this short of a device.
