Big improvement in mobility for 12 year old cocker spaniel
Fantastic! After about 5 days doubling the dose as recommended in the first week, my 12 year old cocker spaniel saw significant improvement in hip and leg mobility. He had started having trouble climbing stairs and jumping up and down off the couch or bed after I ran out of his previous glucosamine supplement. He even ran back across the yard today (about 150 feet) when I called him while he was out doing his business. Very pleased. He even seems to like the taste.

It Works On Large Dogs
I'm posting this review for my son and DIL, whose large Labrador Retriever has suffered from arthritis for some time now. I was given the product to try in exchange for an honest opinion. My son and DIL were a bit skeptical, but agreed they had nothing to lose by giving him the product, and were pleasantly surprised at the result. Their dog, Houston, is 12 years old, old for the breed, and a little overweight. He was slow-moving, walking with care, and not much interested in playing with their boys anymore. Within a week of being given the H3 Essentials, he is much more active, moving much easier, more playful, almost himself again. He's still 12, so not acting like a puppy, but still very much improved. He's even lost a little weight. He's not overly fond of the flavor, but his humans have learned a little trick to get him to take them. They bring his pal Zoe, their other dog, into the room, then offer the treat. He is so determined that Zoe NOT get something offered to him that he gobbles them down, no questions asked. Humans aren't so dumb, after all.

20 Dog Years Younger. Great Product
These "pills" have been great. I have a Beagle that is getting up in age and has begun to have problems with her back legs. She loves to run with me, but got to where she could not keep up anymore. After giving her these regularly for about a week there was a noticeable change. She wasn't quite her old self, but she was no longer huffing and puffing 1/4 mile out. The packaging is somewhat flimsly but serves the purpose. We've tried a coupler other pills that cost more and did not notice a difference except that they were much smellier. These are not odorless, but do not stink as much as some of the other pills we've tried.Keep in mind that depending on the size of your dog these could get quite expensive as some dogs may require a few per day. Smaller dogs like my Beagle require 2 so we give her one with breakfast and 1 with dinner. Overall, we've been very pleased with the pills and have no intentions of changing to a different brand. Also, our dog suffered from seizures until we changed her dog food (current Rachel Ray dog food). She does not have them anymore and adding thesen Glucosamine pills to her diet also do not trigger seizures.

I Can Actually See A Difference...A Bit Spendy, Though...
So I ordered these solely based on the number of stars given by Amazon reviewers, and based on the fact that these supplements were ranked number one amongst items of their kind. I was not mistaken in ordering them. The package opens easily - not that important, but thought I would add that, as who can ever have too much information? And has a ziplock, resealable top. Very useful. My dog, Otis, is a 50 pound Lab mix who is 13 years old. He is grouchy and flatulent. I have been giving him various supplements over the past 5 years or so, along with Meloxicam prescribed by the vet. I broke down and gave him people Glucosamine/Chondroitin in a Pill Pocket as they were handy when I ran out of dog supplements, and they were so much cheaper, but whew! did the gas increase!!!! I don't know why, but that had to stop right now!!!So the H3 Essentials arrived - I actually had forgotten I'd ordered them. I think I ordered them when I was feeling particularly flush and generous. Not only does he love the taste, but I found him playing after he'd been taking them for a week. PLAYING!!! Throwing the Kong toy around and catching it. Usually he just wanders to the food bowl, water bowl, outside, bed, and growls at any one/animal/item which comes near.So even though these supplements/treats, I feel, are really quite expensive (his dose is 3-4/day), I think I'll have to pony up and get some for my old man. It's worth it to see him acting like a normal dog!

Yes and no.
I've just spent 30 minutes scrolling thru reviews to find my original post so I could edit it. It's not coming up, so I will post again with a lower rating this time.I'm a repeat customer. In my first review, a few years ago, I commented on how easy the soft chews were to give to the little (7-lb) dog. It's been awhile, and I've tried a few other brands, but I recently purchased a second bag of the H3 Essentials. This time around, I'm dosing two 7-lb dogs and a 26-lb cocker spaniel who is allergic to just about everything. I still maintain that the soft chews are easy to crumble into the little dogs' food bowls, but the "big" dog broke out in lesions after 2 days of this product. I've taken him off of it and am sharing my glucosamine supplements with him. The rash has disappeared. The little dogs seem to be doing fine, but they have been on glucosamine for over a year now. Just different brands. It seems to me that this second bag is not lasting very long -- 2 chews dispensed daily (one for each little dog) really should last longer than 3 weeks. If I have to buy it that frequently, I am going to look for a cheaper product.
