Cute Family Friendly Hack-n-Slash
RemiLore is an anime-style ARPG hack-n-slash. It is a "rogue-lite" game, meaning the level layout is random every play-through, and death is permanent. Death isn't as bad in RemiLore as in most rogue-lites, as you retain your upgrades and weapon. It isn't particularly hard, from what I've experienced so far. I die once in a while, but it isn't as punishing as many ARPGs or rogue-lites. It also isn't especially deep. The story is similar to a cutesy anime episode - nothing to write home about. That all being said, it is fun, and I can play it in front of, or with, my daughter. If you're looking to scratch a diablo/beatemup itch without blood, demons or undead, this is a good title to pick up. Pros: -Visually Appealing, very bright and pretty game -Not too hard, but there is a hard mode for additional challenge after finishing the story mode -Controls are tight and responsive -Kid friendly -Lots of silly weapons and other unlockables Cons: -Conversations between characters can be annoying, but there is a mode without them -Can be repetitive. More interaction and characters would have been nice -Price is high for what you get, but Nicalis is good about content updates, so here's hoping Overall, this is a charming game and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Just don't go in thinking that this is a traditional JRPG or hard as nails rogue-like, because it isn't.

Cute Anime Diablo
I got this yesterday and haven't been able to put it down! It is a rouge-lite game with a fun, albiet shallow story. There are tons of unique weapons to collect, I have barely scratched the surface! There is a local co-op mode if you want to play with a friend as well! I don't really play a ton of games like this, so for me the difficulty is really balanced, but if you are a hardcore Diablo player, you may find this to be too easy. If you are looking for a light hack and slash game with a cute anime aesthetic, this is the game for you!

Cute! Also fun
I wasn’t expecting a lot out of this game and I guess that’s what you get :P It’s fairly basic as far as ARPGs go but it does the basics really well. The color pallets are nice and bright which I’m a fan of, the framerate is a very smooth 60fps and aside from occasionally getting stuck between too many enemies (and not being able to tell what’s going on) the combat is super fun. I held off on buying this for 20$ during an eShop sale and that’s probably what I’d say it’s worth as a digital purchase but I think the 31$ I paid for the physical copy here is worth it for the presentation alone. The game comes with a fully colored manual explaining controls and the story along with a cute chibi lens wipe for glasses or your switch’s screen. It takes me back to Xbox/PS2 days when paying the extra 10 bucks for a collectors/steel case edition was cool and felt worth it.

Simple but awesome.
The game is really fun. The story is short but extremely replayable. Theres a lot of items, like weapons and costumes, that are unlockeable. If you like rogue-lite games and hack and slashes, or if you like to complete games to a 100%, I would recommend this.

Decent, but flawed and quite short.
This is a fun game but really only two or three times through. A full playthrough takes around three hours, give or take. It's a Diablo style game but with a very simple skill system and a beat-em-up style of combat. The story is shallow but the characters are charming enough and i really enjoy the visuals and art style. One of the biggest problems with this game is you unlock around 90% of the skills in the first playthrough. And what's more if you unlock all of them the game becomes tougher, as some skills are far more useful then others and since any weapon you find has a random skill attached to it, you get saddled with a near-useless ability for quite some time. And since you only get one skill, this is a problem, especially on the higher difficulties. Also, after you beat the game once you unlock a variety of modes but many weapons still remain unlocked. How you avail yourself of these weapons is vague at best and many of them are nearly identical to the others. At forty dollars this title just isn't well-thought out enough or long enough. I did love the instruction booklet and did enjoy my 8 or so hours until the game became repetitive and pointless for me to play. Maybe wait for a sale on the digital version before picking this title up if its admitted charm and art style appeal to you.
