Benzodent is a maximum strength pain relieving cream for temporary oral pain from dentures, braces, or canker sores. This OTC oral pain medication contains benzocaine and is dentist-preferred for new or ill-fitting dentures. Denture wearers can use it for oral pain management when appliances rub. The thick topical numbing cream cushions and adheres to gums, staying in place for relief that lasts for hours. Apply to sore gums, the gum line, tongue, lips, and the inside of your cheeks when dental appliances rub. Use as directed when discomfort occurs.

Review: Helpful - Recently had dentures put in. Gum irritation is normal but when the dentist is closed , and I'm unable to get an adjustment, this stuff helped greatly. It's a thick cream that stays in place and acts as a numbing agent and good lubricant of sorts to help seat your dentures with less pain. The thickness is the key as gels squeeze out. Easy to use as I apply to my sore gum with a qtip, let in work for about 5 minutes, then apply some on the denture in the same spot. definitely effective, and helps ease the pain till I can get an appointment. Some will squeeze out but I leave it on the gum to help with denture movement. Didn't notice any bad or unpleasant taste. Definitely better than numbing agents or gels alone. Expensive but you don't need much and it's well worth it in times of need to help with discomfort

**Q: Does this really work ?**
A: Oh yes. I mean everyone is different but It worked wonders for me and I tell everyone I know who has tooth/dental pain about it. 
It’s a thick paste unlike orajel being really thin and so orajel wears off so fast, but this stuff stays put way longer so helps numb it way better. 
I’d definitely say try it out and see if it works for you but I know for sure i was so happy to have found it when I did.

**Q: Does this product have mint?  Flavor?**
A: Nope

**Q: How do i clean dried on benzodent from dentures? Its like cement & doesn't want to come off!**
A: I used the product once and did not like the taste.  I used a dental tooth brush to remove excess Benzodent.

**Q: Can this be used to relieve palate dental shots & does it leave a residue so the dentist can see?**
A: This is a paste-like consistency and I don't think it would work well for that purpose. It forms a gel when wet (with saliva) and so it possibly would leave a residue that the dentist can see. If it's not used under a denture or partial denture it might numb areas you don't want numb, like the tongue. The pain-relieving ingredient, benzocaine 20%, is also an ingredient in at least a couple of other dental pain relievers. Personally I'd try one of those first.
