This was a perfect beginner project for me. I’d done cross stitch as a child (25+ years ago), so I wanted to start easy. This is massive and took me 4 months (working mom of 4!), but I loved every minute.You’ll need some common sense. The colors printed on the canvas are intentionally NOT the colors used to stitch. Use the key on the side or in the printed instructions to determine what color/design on the canvas correlates to the correct color of thread.The stamping is, in fact, water soluble. I dipped mine, agitated gently, and let set for a couple of hours. Rinse and let dry, and you’re ready to go!The thread is definitely not the best quality, but for the price of the kit, it’s a perfect place for a beginner to learn and enjoy without worrying about the cost. There is plenty of thread and it’s easy to use.I did have a needle break, but more than one is provided, so all in all this was a great experience for me! I love having a craft I can throw in my bag and take with me wherever I go.

Love this cross stitch kit. So far, about 1/3 complete and have plenty of thread. Love that is is resorted so I could dive right in. I love not having to count stitches and able to pick up anytime to work on. The pattern is lovely and nice bright colors. Do not need a hoop for this one. Surprising, but true. Was concerned about it, but the fabric is stiff and doesn't need it.

Nice kit, liked how the thread was organized. I would say this is NOT for a beginner. It was bought for my sister who has a minor disability and it was too difficult for her to complete, but it was perfect for my ability. I am really enjoying the cross stitch.

The pattern and code for this product was fine, but there were several strings that I ran out of. I ordered more through Amazon using the code on the product. The colors were not the same. I ordered new thread when more than 80% of the stitching was done, and I just stopped when I saw the colors were different. I don't live near a craft store to go in and compare the thread. I am not motivated enough for this hobby to investigate the "real" color. I love cross-stitching and it is my stress free time; I will not spend that time figuring out this manufacturer's mistakes.
