In my case I test only once per day. I eat only once per day at noon and I test just before I eat. I noticed, that the CBM do not work well at all. In my case they read on average 20 points too low. So I went back to the test strips. I bought this one, despite I already owned one to verify if there is something wrong with my old reader It was not. It is indeed the CBM which was wrong (I wore them for several month) Also the expiry date should not be taken to literally. I bought some expired test strips for half the price and they read virtually the same. Different test strips from different expiry dates on different meters measured all within +/-3 points (mg/dl) The test strip method is accurate enough so you get a "feeling" how you are doing.

I ordered this kit as it is an incredible value and it had incredible reviews. I see why the reviews were so high- it’s a solid monitor for the money and comes with everything you need to monitor your levels. The kit comes with two packs of test strips, lancets, lancing device, and the monitor itself. It also comes with a super convenient carrying case that holds everything for on the go! I will admit, the clarity of instructions could be improved. There is a lot of info to take in. There are several symbols etc that you need to memorize. Aside from that, this monitor is incredibly accurate. I haven’t had a single inaccurate reading. Test strips are affordable and offer a 60-second re-sampling window in the event you don’t get enough blood onto the test strip on the first go. The lancing device comes with the kit and it includes a small supply of lancets. The lancing device has 5 depth settings and is incredibly easy to use. The device works with most lancets available on Amazon. The device is incredibly easy to use and nearly painless. I set the depth at 4 personally. I find I’m able to get the proper amount of blood without having to restick another finger. Given I recently purchased this, I cannot speak to battery life. However, the device is incredibly easy to read and the device offers Bluetooth sync with the Contour app for iPhone. It keeps all your readings in sync for ease of access and to easily share with your care team. It also syncs with Apple Health. This kit is an incredible value for the money. The test strips are reliable and affordable. I’d strongly recommend this kit to those needing to monitor their levels with confidence and accuracy. My advice is to add more test strips and a box of lancets to your order as the kit includes a small supply of lancets. It’s always good to have plenty on hand in the event you need to frequently check levels. Incredible value for the money!

This kit is easy to use. It has a great, intuitive, phone application that immediately shows the glucose mg/dl value from the test device. The spring-activated lancet device is effective, and the pain is over quickly. I did the research and this seems to be at the top of the list for finger stick glucose monitors. It is less expensive than the wearables, likely more accurate, and doesn't require a prescription.

I’ve used a different popular brand of meter for years. Back in the day my doctor would give me boxes with new meters. The strips got so expensive. Recently I got a a box of bad strips that cost over $50. I needed something more reasonably priced. So I asked grok AI to pull information from the internet and recommend a brand. It came up with 2. This meter was one of them. It told me more than once that this one was more accurate than the brand I had. It certainly has more reasonably priced strips. I got this Contour meter quickly and I’ve tried it. The only negative about it are the tiny little dates and times at the top that are hard to read. I needed a code to put in to connect it to the app and I had to so much trouble seeing them that I had to have someone look at it and read them to me, but once it was connected to the app, the meter beeps and works quickly, showing a color near the strip port to show highs and lows. I downloaded the app to my smart phone and the meter reading show up immediately. It gives you a great overall feeling of where your blood sugars have been during the day. The reasonable price of the strips makes it possible to take your blood glucose readings more often I did this subscribe and save for the strips so that they are just delivered to me as I need them. So far, it has been a good experience and I’m not sorry that I changed brands after 15 years.

I bought this to test my blood sugar I don't have diabetes I'm taking the diet GPL-1 and I was feeling tired and thought maybe my blood sugar was too low. It wasn't so I haven't used it since. I had some trouble figuring out how to use it because it wouldn't turn on but when you put the tab in it it starts to work as I figured it out.

Backstory: I haven't had labs for over a year because my Dr. resigned and before he resigned I was denied Ozempic because I was pre-diabetic with metabolic syndrome. I was frustrated because I was on it for a year previously. So I figured there was no point in returning. I couldn't get prescribed glp-1 that was literally making me feel better overall. Long story short, I bought this little device and tried it out. My reading seems kinda high according to the range in the pamphlet. I suppose I should try to make a Dr's appt. to get accurate labs in the future, huh?? Thanks to big pharma this is right where they want you. The medical industry is messed up! Anyway, this device is user friendly. I didn't need instructions as I already knew how it worked. I did read the pamphlet for the little icon settings. I like how it included all the accessories. Readability is very good. Happy overall, except for those readings. But I guess that's my fault, not the device, as diabetes is environmental not so much genetics.

I'm really new to this testing my blood sugar thing, so I'm a stickler for wanting accurate results. I have a Freestyle Lite monitor that I've been using for almost 6 months (Dr. prescribed) and have been very happy with that. I kept seeing that the Contour Next Gen was supposed to be the most accurate glucose reader out there. So I bought it. I use both in the morning to test...sometimes they are the same number or they may differ by 3 or 4 points. You results in 5 seconds, it's small, but the screen is a nice size so that it's easy to see. I don't think you'll go wrong with this product. It has a solid reputation, it's reliable, and the test strips are affordable.
