I will start by saying how much I love this coconut oil! I’ve been using it for the last 15 years for both skin and hair care. If you love the smell of coconut this is for you. I want to point out something that many folks seem to be unaware of. Yes, this coconut oil will most likely arrive in its sold state. This is COMPLETELY NORMAL, and not defective, so bear this in mind before leaving a bad review on an amazing product. Just like, say, butter for example, if you take it out of the refrigerator it’s going to be solidified; leave it at room temperature for a bit, and it’ll soften. It’s the same with pure coconut oil.

Everyone has their preferences for coconut oil, for me this company produces an excellent and yummy oil. I love the taste and the scent, as does my hubby. I've tried other brands and so far, this one pleases my palate the most, not to mention easy on my budget. Love, love, LOVE this product. As the many reviews has stated coconut oil has multi-uses. I prefer going natural/holistic for everything and coconut oil is part of my daily health and beauty regimine, as well as for my four-legged companions. Amazon has several books on the many uses and natural health benefits of this wonderful oil. I highly recommend looking into its benefits. I put a teaspoon in my coffee daily, a yummy way to start my day; add to pet food for its anti-microbial and skin and hair benefits (for me too); natural sunscreen; and the list goes on. I trust the opinion of those whom have empirical experiences and wisdom about this oil. The Asian's and Polynesian's have been using coconuts for beauty, health and healing for centuries, their wisdom is certainly working for me and my friends.

This is an excellent product for cooking it does have a coconut taste and smell with pairs wonderfully with curries or nearly anything else I used it for including frying onions, vegetables, etc. The container is difficult to get the oil out of but I left it behind my computer to "thaw" and then put it in a more accessible container. I eat a tablespoon of coconut oil every morning and the wonderful taste made it go down very easily. I tried oil pulling with this oil but it didn't seem like a practice I wanted to continue. Great time investment but nowhere in my apartment did I want to spit that oil out. I don't use soap or shampoo anymore and apply coconut oil to my body, face, and hair. This stuff smelled great while in the shower but after a few hours others complained that I smelled like leftovers. I haven't had this response with other coconut oils. I have amazingly clear and soft skin and hair from daily application of coconut oil. I tried to make my own toothpaste with this coconut oil and the flavor of it made for an awful tasting batch of toothpaste. Tastes great by itself or in cooking but in this application it was kind of like old pork taste. Coconut oil, baking soda, and a flavor oil are really all that's needed but no amount of flavor oil could mask the awful taste.

I have been waiting for a reply from this buyer, and as of yet, I am still waiting for a response. I WANT MY $18 back since I threw your merchandise in the garbage, in case you tried to re-sell it. I understand that we all make mistakes, and I was hoping they would decide to refund my money or at least reply to one of my messages. But they have yet to get in contact with me. Complete silence from this company. As you can see on the pics, the item they sent me has expired since 12/31/21. I use it to do oil pulling on my teeth since it works great and makes them look fantastic. However, when I saw the product, it looked clumpy, which I thought was fine. Then I took a spoonful, and something seemed off, so I looked at the expiration date, and viola! It is expired! I left a bad taste in my mouth. If they reply and treat me with respect, then I will update this post. If not, I will absolutely report them. Sincerely, Disappointed buyer

I simply love it. It's light weight, no build up, need only a little, and adds ultimate shine no frizz simply beautiful. Also use as a protectant before swimming and no chlorine damage or color damage from dye I use. This is simply amazing oil I'd give it 10 stars if I could. My hair is growing amazingly long 2 inches in a month. I am African American and have a very good grade of hair middle of my back & was at a stand still before using this. I'm thankful for this product it is a staple for me and my kids. Also other uses my skin, and nails. My nail mixture is this with garlic oil for brittle and weak nails I mix & rub then rinse 3x's a week great results. Also use to pop popcorn it tastes great. I love this oil its the best. This is an honest review my family uses this now as well. THANKS PARACHUTE FOR AMAZING PRODUCT.

"Healthy" also deserves quotes, I suppose. Same as fingernails or animal horns, as all hair is dead on a cellular level -- unromantic but true. I have "thirsty" (those quotes, again!) hair, and conditioner doesn't always seem to help much. I also have skin sensitivities, so after one manufacturer changed a formula on one of my faves for the worse, I decided to try coconut oil. The results are dramatic. My hair looks really nice, as shiny as it was in my 20s, it's soft again, and I'm feeling kind of like a dupe that I've been buying chemically formulated conditioner all these years. I agree with other reviewers that this oil, or at least the batch I got, seems to have something in it to keep it from solidifying (at least in a 70something degree bathroom) the way most culinary coconut oils will. It also doesn't have the same rich coconut flavor of my favorite brands, such as Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 29-Ounce Jars (Pack of 2) - but then it's filtered, and not extra-virgin. Probably for the best, because as nice as coconut is, I really don't want to go around smelling like cheap suntan lotion! Disclaimer: using too much will obviously wreck greasy havoc on some hair, especially finer, lighter, european hair -- which I have, actually. I couldn't have used this at all back in the day when my hair was naturally on the oily side, but if you have coarse, frizzy, wiry, or even just really dry hair, you can probably find the right amount for you to bring back the nice texture and shine without getting overly heavy -- even if that means mixing it in with a bit of gentle shampoo.

I got what I wanted which is absolutly perfect! It smells nice and makes my hair shiny and healthy. I didn't know this type of oil was more, well oily. This may sounds strange but I just thought it would have a more thicker consistancy but it works great this way. No goopy residue! Review Update 10/4/11 I've been using this product everyday since I purchased it in June and it works bueatifully. I coat my hair from root to tip every night before wrapping it up and my hair has never been softer or shinier. I've gone from natural to relaxed and it works great on both types of hair. I use about quarter sized amount or less each night (I'm only half way through the bottle I bought in June!) and by morning it's completly absorbed and it just looks and feels great. Be warned though if you have abosorbing (ex cotton) pillowcase the oil might leave stains on it. I'm not sure if it was the coconut oil or something else I was using at the time. I started using a satin pillowcases anyways problem solve.

Wasn't too impressed that the product was only 6months from its expiration date.
