I bought this and the screen shows "sim lock" no matter what sim card i put in it. how do i unlock it?

I ended up purchasing another device. I plugged the SIM card into that device and it worked perfectly. I still believe this device was not unlocked even tho it is advertised as such. I have gotten no response from the seller. I am returning the device.

I travel from floresville to monahans texas not on ih10 route, norther route wonder how the service is ok for this device?

We use this device as our WiFi in Colorado and our home in Mexico. We have no problem streaming. Our service is provided by at&t. The provider has more to do with the service you recei.

I have this same mobile hotspot but i am updating it with a new one. can i use my sim card from my old device and put it in my new device?

Yes you can use old sim if its from GSM service provider with active mobile data plan in this device. you also have to update Apn settings in the new device with your current mobile data service provider.

If not, you may have limited or no connectivity.
