what is butter powder used for ?

Butter powder is primarily used in baking as it's very easy to mix into flour and doesn't cause clumping. It uses additional milk solids to allow the butter to stand as a powder. Those milk solids also mean that it's not good for greasing a pan. Some people use it to spread butter flavor by sprinkling it. If you want a butter that will work for frying yet have a long shelf life, look for ghee or clarified butter, which is butter without any milk solids.

Funny you asked about the popcorn. We made a large batch of popcorn and used the butter powder on it. It was excellent! No oily fingers and is now a family favorite. I haven't tried it in cooking yet. Was planning on using it when baking bread for a buttery background. I don't think that you could use it as a film in a pan to keep the eggs from sticking, but if you're looking for a nice buttery flavor to mix in scrambled eggs... it would work.

Comes in a container, easy to use when mixing up my spice mixtures. The flavor is excellent. It adds that creamy butter flavor to your cooking and baking. It’s a powder so you just mix it into your spices or add it in alone to your cooking or baking. First time buying from this company and very happy with it!!

It's dehydrated butter in a jar. It's very messy. It works as advertized, which is why it gets the five star treatment. It tastes the same as butter, but I've only used it in cookies. I would not buy it again because of how hard it is to measure it out without getting it all over the place. That's just me; I suggest trying it.
