The piece of fabric is folded in half, providing a good thickness, and the very edge is serged (not just a quick hem job - a very rare find these days!) so there will be no fraying or hem unraveling. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because there is nothing on the packaging that says these bibs are certified organic cotton. There may be false advertising.
