So far the watch is definitely a talking piece, people seem to notice it more frequently than any other watch which I own. The time keeping has been pretty accurate. The titanium version is the way to go. The watch is built like a tank and the band quality is exactly what I expected. Over all I think this is was a worth purchase and I certainly a great watch to go into my collection.

Great looking watch. Really unique. You’ll learn how to read it and have fun explaining it to others. It’s art. It’s art with flaws. The strap looks dumb. For a $1500 dollar watch do better. I bought a strapcode titanium and now it looks correct. Much better. The strap looks like the watch costs $80. Ciga why silicone? This watch cannot go in the water! Buya real strap. Trust me. Taking the strap off was easy. Putting one on was a pain in the ass. Didn’t quite fit although the lug was correct. The lume doesn’t exist. There is no lume. Zero. Stop adverting the lume. Today I had this watch in direct sunlight for two hours. Two more indirect sunlight. No lume. Essentially, it’s jewelry at night. I’m disappointed. I may sell it. I don’t know. If the lume worked I would be much happier.

A 5 star product if there ever was one! This is an award winning timepiece made by CIGA--a company on the forefront of Chinese horological develepment and advancement. When I say "award winning", I'm not throwing that term around lightly--it won an award in Switzerland in 2021, the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Challenge Award.....very rare and impressive for a watch not made in Switzerland! This Blue Planet 2, luminous edition, is the most recent version. As the name implies, it's had luminous material added to the hour and minute dials and to the pointer compass indicator. The lume is definitely cool, especially on the compass. This version also has a polished titanium case (I love polished titanium!) and a signed, custom deployant clasp. The domed sapphire crystal has been elevated vs. prior versions for an even taller domed shape. Additionally, it has a different movement vs. prior versions. Apparently, since the last Blue Planet release, CIGA tested over 100 different movements in order to get the best possible accuracy and reliability for this particular timepiece. Judging by the rotor, it looks like some kind of Citizen adaptation, but I can't be sure. If it is based on a Citizen or Miyota movement, that is probably a good thing as Miyota makes some excellent, reliable and robust movements. The bottom line is that a lot of good and worthwhile upgrades went into this Blue Planet 2 version. I have to say that I love wearing this watch! Even though it's a 46mm case, the titanium is so light that you barely know it's on--and the lugless design means that it will comfortably and cosmetically fit almost all wrist sizes. Reading the time is done by locating the compass first. The compass points to a minute ring to give you the minutes in whatever hour section the compass is in. The minute ring moves, the hour ring is fixed, and the compass pointer moves around the globe with the passage of time--as the primary timekeeping indicator. You get used to telling time this way after using it a bit. I test myself by checking the time on the Blue Planet and then glancing at my phone or my laptop. I'm about 75% right so far, and getting better LOL! But I love that you kind of have to stare at the beautiful watch for a few seconds to focus on the right time. It is a constant reminder of the beauty and importance of this planet that we all share--and that's worth being reminded of. Notably, if you want a rough idea of the time at a glance, you can just find where the compass is in relation to the hour markers, i.e. normal circular time. For example, if you glance down and see that the compass has moved directly on top of the normal 6:00 position, then you can surmise that it's 6:00--or very close to it. I find that kinda fun! In terms of comparisons and valuation, I thnk we are looking at something that might be very undervalued here--perhaps over the long haul. To me, this watch evokes impressions of MB&F or even a Christian Van Der Klauw (I love his planetarium timepieces). But these MB&F and Christian Van Der Klauw watches sell for many thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars, topping out well over $100,000. This watch is, in my opinion, a tremendous value compared to those. CIGA is a relatively young company, and it may take some time for watch buyers and collectors to fully realize the value of these timepieces. And I could see collectors like myself buying every edition of this watch. While this is the newest, latest, greatest, a lot of the prior editions have interesting features and historical value as well. Having all of them in one's collection might be a very exciting proposition to people with a keen interest in horology. One last observation....After wearing this watch, it's very hard to think about putting on one of my other watches. This timepiece is so unique, so interesting, and so beautiful that I find it difficult to put anything else on my wrist. It really is amazing and fun! Highly Recommended!!!

It's too pricey, but those glow-in-the-dark hands are a nice touch! This CIGA Blue Planet II mechanical watch is cool! The sapphire crystal mirror and deep blue dial mimic the Earth, with silver representing land. 😚I dig it. It even won a Geneva watch award. The fluoro-rubber strap is more flexible than leather, which I love. The hour dial stays still while the minute dial rotates 390° to show time uniquely. 😃Every time I check the time, it feels special. Hey, I couldn't help but brag about it to my wife! I'm happy with everything except the price. 4.5 stars.

This watch is absolutely stunning—more than just a timepiece, it feels like wearable art. The Blue Planet design is unique and meaningful, with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. The movement is smooth and innovative, and the sapphire crystal with the ceramic/fluororubber strap gives it both durability and elegance. It’s comfortable on the wrist, draws compliments everywhere I go, and truly feels like a collector’s piece. Worth every penny.

I love a good watch. The Ciga Blue Planet 2 is an incredible watch. The design is unlike any other I've seen. It is certainly an eye-catcher and a conversation piece. It looks amazing for a formal get together, especially with a suit. It has a well designed movement so it keeps the time very well. The strap is a comfortable fluororubber that doesn't grab hair or skin. It's an expensive time piece that is more art than function, but also does function very well.

Montre atypique et très originale. Lorsqu'on aime les montres, celle ci sort de l'ordinaire, déjà par son absence d'aiguilles et sa forme plutôt bombée. Ayant le poignet assez large. La taille est très correcte. La matière du bracelet est très confortable. Il est également quickfix. Il possède une ouverture papillon. Permettant de facilement enlever et mettre la montre. La lecture demande un peu d'entraînement car les chiffres des minutes sont un peu petit a mon goût... C'est pour moi une montre a porter pour de belles occasions.

Wer eine außergewöhnliche Uhr sucht ist hier genau richtig! Diese Uhr ist in allem außergewöhnlich. Da ist einmal dieses gewölbte Design des Ziffernblattes mit der darunter liegenden Weltkugel, ebenfalls gewölbt. Das Gehäuse aus Titan fasst sich ungeheuer angenehm an. Am aller ungewöhnlichsten ist die Anzeige und das Ablesen der Zeit. Es braucht zuerst etwas Gewöhnung, aber dann hat man es gleich drauf, wie bei einer normalen Uhr. Und selbst im dunklen klappt das hervorragend, da die Indizes wirklich gut leuchtend sind. Das Automatikwerk ist wirklich auch hervorragend und höchst präzise. Ich selbst sammele Uhren und habe einige, die ein Vielfaches teurer sind als diese Uhr von CIGA. Aber diese Blue Planet II ist durchaus ein Highlight in meiner Sammlung.

CIGA Design, para el que no lo sepa, es una marca china, de relojería de alta calidad. Fabrica relojes de diseño original que combina mecánica de alta gama, procedentes de Suiza, Japón...con un diseños minimalistas, distinto a todo, priorizando valores ecológicos, humanistas y espirituales en algunos de sus modelos mas famosis, como es el caso de este Blue Planet II Ha ganado 17 premios internacionales de diseño, incluido el GPHG, (Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève), el mas prestigioso del mundo, precisamente otorgado, por el modelo del que aquí hablamos. Lo primero que llama la atencion del reloj, es la espectacular esfera tridimensional azul, en la que está perfectamente representada la orografía terrestre, con un nivel de detalle aumentado en esta segunda edición. El cristal de zafiro abovedado, con mas curva también que el modelo anterior, representa la atmósfera terrestre. La caja, totalmente redonda, sin asas y tambien de perfil curvado, de titanio pulido reciclado, se une al cristal en un encaje perfecto y casi imperceptible. El resultado, como véis en las fotos que os dejo, es un perfil de líneas completamente curvas, en la que resalta la representación de la esfera terrestre en un efecto muy hipnótico. Por cierto, a la esfera también se le ha aumentado bastante la curva, con respecto a la primera versión. En la parte trasera de la caja, encontramos un cristal, que deja ver el movimiento, que es la forma de llamar en el mundillo de la relojería, a lo que es la maquinaria del reloj. Os dejo vídeo. La forma de dar la hora, es también muy particular. Al principio es un poco liosa, pero rápidamente te acostumbras. Como podéis observar en las fotos, tiene un indicador en forma "Rosa de los Vientos" que resalta en la esfera terrestre, que gira sobre sí misma. Una de sus puntas señala la hora y los minutos a la vez. Es curioso. Los minutos están representados en el circulo interior concéntrico, que gira 390°, en vez de los 360° que giraría un minutero tradicional, antes de pasar al minuto 1 de la hora siguiente. Para conseguir esto, se ha tenido que customizar el movimiento (maquinaria) del reloj. Hay información detallada de ello en la red. Las horas están representadas en el circulo mas externo, que no gira y están colocadas como siempre. Las 12 y las 6 arriba y abajo, y las 3 y las 9 a derecha e izquierda. Así explicado, puede parecer lioso, pero nada, te acostumbras, porque merece la pena el "ejercicio de aprendizaje", a cambio de tener algo diferente a todo. La correa es lo que mas controversia me produjo al principio. ¿Una correa de goma para un reloj de esta categoría?. Pero lo cierto es, que los diseñadores de Ciga, saben perfectamente lo que hacen y le han colocado una correa acorde con el conjunto. Es de fluoro-elastómero, o caucho fluorado, de 22 mm y anclajes de liberación rápida. Muy agradable al tacto. Cierre doble de mariposa, ajustable. De acero inoxidable muy elaborado. En definitiva, acorde tanto con la calidad del reloj, como con el diseño, y muy cómoda de poner y quitar, incluso si tienes una muñeca grande, como yo. Le he probado varias correas de 22 mm, algunas de ellas muy caras, de cuero natural, de acero, incluso textiles...y ninguna de ellas me ha convencido. Por eso digo, que la gente de Ciga Design, saben mucho de esto. En cuanto a presentación, tampoco se lo han tomado a la ligera. Es una auténtica exquisitez. Como véis en las fotos, es una especie de "estuche-libro" con páginas gruesas con canto plateado, al estilo de un álbum de fotos, en las que aparece información de las "Rutas de la Seda", historia del reloj, premios obtenidos...y en definitiva, temas relacionados con el diseño. Necesitaría otra reseña completa, para hablar de la espectacular presentación de este Blue Planet II, y no quiero extenderme mucho mas. En definitiva un reloj distinto.

This watch is a definite marmite watch, you either love it or hate it. I found it really difficult to rate fairly as it's beautiful, but has it's drawbacks. Love it or hate it, there's no denying that the workmanship that has gone into this watch is second to none. It has a titanium case with high gloss polish, dual curved sapphire crystal, and a 3D realistic recreation of earth. In 2021 it won the GPHG the Challenge Watch Prize category. The good things... It is beautiful to look at, and the meaning behind this watch reminding us to look after our planet is a gorgeous sentiment. The details in the surface of the earth is exquisite. The crystal has a perfect curvature, as does the shape of the earth, and the rubber strap is so much nicer and more comfortable than silicone. It is a very sturdy watch that absolutely has the 'cool' factor in my book. I love the the alternative time telling mechanism as there is no hand, as the compass points to the time, the hours are set in place and the minutes tick round. The bad bits... It's heavy, and the watch itself sits quite proud on the wrist so is prone to knocking, it's not a watch you would wear every day. Whilst I love the design and the way you tell the time, it certainly has it's downside. The numbers are quite small, and because it's so different it is difficult to tell the time quickly. The other thing that makes it difficult to tell the time is the curved crystal because you get a lot of reflection on it which again makes it tricky to see the time. Even with the bad bits, I still really like it. It's definitely a conversation starter and a lovely addition to any collection. Is it worth over £1200? ...I'm not convinced, it is a beautiful watch, but practical, it is not.

Belle montre très spéciale, livrée dans un coffret en forme de livre. La qualité de fabrication est excellente. Lire l'heure demande un apprentissage, car elle diffère de la lecture classique d'une horloge à aiguilles. Elle se remonte grâce aux mouvements du poignet. Un très beau produit de qualité, à offrir.
