Purchased a second one in a different color, same size, and it was cut like a small. Its so pretty I almost kept it, but I know I will end up not wearing it bc its snug and I don't like tight fighting clothing. I'll be returning this and trying another medium, and hope the cut is consistent with the first one I purchased. Aside from that, this is a very pretty top. The fabric is substantial, has some stretch, and looks like it will wash beautifully with little or no shrinkage. I would suggest hanging to dry. For anyone with concerns about the beautiful smocked sleeves, they're cut so nice! I have had others with the smocked ruffled sleeves, and they are useless when the sleeves are cut too short, and the end of the ruffle is an inch over your wrist bone. But this top didn't skimp making that aspect perfect. I am 5'8, and the length of the top falls just below my hip bone. I do highly recommend this top, just be prepared for the inconsistent sizing.Just for reference when deciding on size:*The Medium that fit well is one inch larger over all than the second one that feels snug. Here are the measurements on the true medium for reference: 26" over all length, 25" from shoulder to end of ruffled sleeve, 15" across from should seam to shoulder seam, and 18" measured across the chest area (from side seam to side seam.)
