I ordered it to use on my horses to extend the period between farrier visits as it's getting harder to get someone to come to my farm. I have no experience trimming hooves. I am not sure any of my horses will tolerate power tools as they have the same amount of experience with power tools as I have with trimming hooves. Also, there is no instructions or even "helpful tips" for using this as a trimmer. I will need to do a lot more research as I could do more harm than good, or my horse may harm me. I think if you know what your doing this is a well made grinding tool.
