Yes, throw away the metal hose from the dryer to the wall, Use the clamps provided with the new hose to connect it to the dryer and the wall

The Outside diameter is 4 inches, this flex venting line is well made with tinfoil like material on the inside. If 4" flex venting is what you need, I would recommend and shipping was fast!
