What is it supposed to do?
It is hard to tell what this adaptor is supposed to do and how is it supposed to go about doing it. The description is vague and somewhat confusing, and so are the photos on the product page. One of the photos has a usb flash drive in it, which suggest that you should be able to plug a usb memory stick into this adaptor, then plug the round connector into the AUX input on your stereo and then play mp3 files present on the memory stick. The trouble with that approach is that a usb memory stick needs a certain amount of electricity to function, and an AUX analog input doesn't supply electricity - so that couldn't really work. In fact I tried it with the AUX input of my car stereo just in case, and, as expected it did nothing. Another suggestion in the description is that it might work the other way around - plugging the round analog connector into a source of sound - such as an mp3 player or a phone, and then connecting the usb end to a stereo which accepts a usb memory stick input. If that were the case, the question arises as to why the usb connector is of female type, instead of male type - which would be required to plug into a stereo. Secondly, it is hard to imagine how what looks like an adaptor with no integrated electronics would perform the magic of converting analog sound into a "pretend" mp3 file on the fly and feed it into the stereo. Really, I have not been able to fathom what is this for.
