I wanted this product to dampen sound vibrations on a metal 19" rackmount equipment cabinet which just wants to ring a ding ding at every opportunity since I have put it on casters instead of being mounted on the wall. The 1/16" is too thin to make as much difference as I had hoped. Also I could use it only on the inside or the back of the cabinet because this material mars easily and thus would not be presentable on the outside. I can tell from the material that a thicker version - like 1/2" would be fabulous. It's well made, I just got the wrong size.

I'm building out a van into an RV. This is really useful for all sorts of projects from insulation to padding.It's not real thick but it has excellent pliability and adhesion. Easy to cut to shape and peel off the backing too.
