LOVE this kettle so far. UPDATE not great
UPDATED REVIEW ON 8/18/2025 (purchased kettle on 05/05/2024, so have had Ascot glass kettle for 1 year 3 months). We love this glass kettle still BUT the metal base inside now has a clear rust spot. I tried instructions to boil water/vinegar mixture (equal parts) and then let sit. The rust spot is still there no matter and cannot be scrubbed away. We are being very careful to not leave any water sitting in the kettle but are very disappointed and do not feel comfortable to keep using this kettle with a rust spot clearly showing - we cannot be sure that now that the stainless steel bottom inside base has been breached that nasty metals might be leaching into our boiling water because of this. I'm placing this review and getting ready to contact Ascot via their website and may update after. We had gone through SO many glass tea kettles trying to avoid heavy metals/plastic, etc., and THIS was the one recommended by a website I follow and trust (Mamavation). It was pricier than the ones we have gone through over the years but we felt it was worth it. Having to buy a new one every 1.5 years of even the no plastic/no lead/etc. is very disheartening. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We've had this kettle for about 4 months now after having had so many glass/no plastic electric kettles fail on us after less than a year or two. This one was recommended by someone I follow stating it was lead-free. We use it several times daily for hot water for coffee but since April, it's getting almost double daily use making hot water to make sugar water nectar for the hummingbirds. You have to remember to NEVER grab the lid without a pot holder, as the ring on the top is super hot. Otherwise, it's the most attractive glass tea kettle we've had yet - it works fast enough for our purposes, and we really hope it holds up to our regular usage. One other note would be that the spout is all glass - you do have to be careful to not bang/bump it onto anything hard!

Love ❤️ 10/10 would recommend!
I am absolutely blown away by my new kettle! I was a bit skeptical at first, but this thing is a GAME CHANGER. Not only does it boil water faster than any kettle I've ever owned, but it's also incredibly easy to use and clean. The design is sleek and modern, and it looks great on my countertop. But what really sets this kettle apart is its performance. It's so quiet and efficient, and it gets the job done in no time. I've been using it nonstop since I got it, and I couldn't be happier. If you're in the market for a new kettle, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND BUY THIS ONE. Trust me, you won't regret it. It's worth every penny and then some. 10/10 would recommend!"

Horrible downgrade from 2020 version.
I purchased this in 2020 and absolutely LOVED it so when it died a few days ago, I was ecstatic to find out that Ascot still made this kettle. The others, let's face it, are so boring to look at. Ascot offers a specific style that's harder to find. That being said, this replacement, is AWFUL! Of course, it's beautiful, but that's where it ends. The previous model, before it started showing its age, would heat to a boil within 2-3 minutes. This one? 8 minutes and 4 seconds, yes I timed it. What is the point of using an electric kettle when you can do the same thing in that amount of time on the stove? The point, is getting it done quicker. Add that to the awful egg fart smell coming from this thing. 🤢 One use and it somehow smells worse. Ok so next thing, after noticing some air bubbles around the bottom where the glass meets the metal, while inspecting, water starter pouring out of the bottom. Well that can't be good. 🤦🏻♀️ This is atrocious quality, especially for the money. Previous version lasted 6 years. What happened?

Excited and then lasted 4yrs, 3.5 mos. Ascot Obsolescence
This is an attractive and interesting product. I like the design and seeing the water boil. And here's the rest of the story. If you are a non-native American English speaker, obsolescence is not a regular vocabulary word. The way the word is used today is that a product will no longer be serviceable due to a lack of workmanship, meaning the product is not of high quality and not resilient enough to last. For example, I ordered a lovely version of this product on October 28, 2020 so let’s say I started using it October 30, 2020. The inner bottom in this unit did not rust, nor did I see evidence of paint chipping (it was the light gold metal version). It for the most part, did 80% of the time did turn off, maybe more. Then about 6-8 months ago, to get it to heat water, I needed to rotate the kettle on it’s heating element base as it would no longer work at every location of the circle like it did in the beginning. Then it finally died on Valentines day 2025. Before it died, I started to notice the bottom had water somehow leaking, I kept drying the bottom to prove it to myself. All in all, our relationship with this teapot was 4 years, 3 months, 15 days. I invited the manufacturer to contact me with a shipping label so that their engineers in China may look at the unit which they were not interested in, if they truly believe in the beautiful words on their website. Such as: "ASCOT stands for excellence in design and engineering, which is why each product is created and developed to be “Different & Refined”. [... offering] climate products and more. Our relentless pursuit of refined performance wrapped in different and discerning design makes us the authoritative partner, helping you experience the satisfaction of striving for excellence. Our journey is one of relentless improvement..." This is all very wonderful. Hopefully this vision includes a vision toward protecting our earth by protecting us from needless throwing away an entire product into landfill, in a form of obsolescence? In my experience with websites such as these that share no address of where they are located and have no contact phone number or have no real support, is because they are not in denmark, where they claim their product is designed, they are based out of China. Looking that up, and yes, the website is registered in China and their mailing address which is redacted is in Hangzhou, China. Eventually, I was able to reach by email: Jenny at Ascot - Home . com (written this way because of Amazon's rules). She agreed to give me a 30% discount on a new product and in my attraction to aesthetics, I bought another one ( which will be the last if it doesn't last) and then I brought the broken one to a recycling center for computers. May you have good luck with yours.

Beautiful and Elegant
I've been searching for an electric kettle that doesn't touch plastic. This kettle proper is made entirely out of stainless steel. The max water level float visible only on the inside is also made of all stainless parts. The electric base is hidden in one continuous sheet of stainless steel. In my experience, there is not much damage done to the base so this shouldn't be a problem. I've been having trouble with the auto shut off ceasing to work with two other brands, Bella and Hamilton Beach. Only time will tell if this electric switch, made in China, will be longer lasting. The kettle gets warm to the touch. The speed of hot water is remarkable.

No Lead but Rust, after 4 months use!
I bough this Kettle in 2024 when I saw that it had third party testing to be lead free. I had another kettle at the time that was working well so we didn't start using this kettle until the Hollidays in 2025. I have been using it daily for about 4 months and noticed that it has started to rust in the bottom. There are 6 rust spots! Im so disappointed. I was hoping this was finally the perfect safe kettle. Other that that it looks nice and works well. But continuing to use a rusty kettle is not an option. Does anyone know of one that is lead free AND rust free?

Awesome stylish kettle
The kettle is very stylish, the glass jar, round spout, spout filter are all the pros. Everything we liked in this kettle and we enjoyed having this in our kitchen for the past 6 months. But unfortunately it has stopped working recently. We contacted the seller and conveyed the issue. The customer service provided by the seller was amazing and they shipped us the replacement as the product has 12 months quality assurance. We are extremely happy by the service provided and looking forward eagerly for the replacement.
