Excellent camera
Bought this to replace a different, cheaper camera that unfortunately malfunctioned during the heatwave in UK. This camera is more of an endurance camera which will function at higher temperatures. We also bought an endurance sd card to go in it. Very easy to fix up on our outside front wall and very easy to get the app and pair the camera. It is working perfectly. The images are clear and well defined. The lighting is perfect, even at night. Te motion detector is incredibly sensitive so we’ve reduced ours to about halfway on the setting. Excellent value for money.

Good quality and easy set up
I found it really simple to set up with a little bit of help from AI. Good App. It seems really good quality and really clear. Good value!

Great camera.
Great little camera. The Tapo app and whole ecosystem is brilliant in my opinion. Subscription and ad free - works really well with an SD card. An absolute breeze to set up - with the adhesive pad and magnetic base, I got this up and running and installed in position in under 2 minutes. The Image quality is great and the lights are a great addition to capture even better quality footage at night. But even without the lights, the night vision quality is really very good and far better than the Yi/Kami camera I replaced with this. Although this is an outdoor camera, I've used it indoors as I think it looks nicer than a lot of the indoor cameras you can get. This is small and can fit really snugly into the corner of the ceiling. You can manipulate the bracket into just about any angle and the camera view has the option to invert it, so you can set it up either way up. It comes with a really good length cable so you can run it quite a distance from the power supply if needed.

Freed from Ring
I’m another long term Ring customer moving away from the company due to their subscription costs. A direct comparison isn’t really fair, as I’ll explain, so I’ll review this camera for what it is - but I will also make some comparisons to the Ring camera it is replacing. I picked this camera up for less than £30. It is replacing a Ring Stick Up Cam Elite that cost £180 (although I paid £120 on offer). Out of the box, the C120 is a compact little thing, not too light, but not heavy either. Setup was easy…well, eventually. Although this is an outdoor capable camera, I am only using it indoors. It doesn’t really strike me as sturdy enough for prolonged outdoor use but I can’t really comment on that. Bad Stuff I’ll get the bad stuff out the way first..The main reason I’ve deducted one star is to do with the power cable. I’d read other reviews that mentioned problems with this so I wasn’t too thrown when it wouldn’t power up. I turned the USB-C head round the other way and then it powered on. But there were still issues as the connection isn’t secure and even without moving the cable at all, it kept dropping the power connection. So I swapped to another cable and all was fine. However, the other cable is sturdy and that exposed the other slight issue. The stand is adjustable in loads of directions. A stiffer, heavier cable forces the camera out of position. Because the camera is quite light, it’s also not that stable in freestanding mode. Better Stuff Just does what you want it to do with little fuss. Setup is easy. The daylight image is decent. Each mode of low light capability is also really good. It has some smart stuff (identification of people, pets etc) but I really won’t have a use for that. Responds fairly quickly to the app. Isn’t dependant on subscription. Comparing to Ring This is largely specific to the Ring camera I have and mentioned above. If you are replacing a Ring camera, some of this might not apply to yours. I actually prefer a lot about the Ring camera. * I like the look and build quality of it more than the Tapo. * The daytime image quality on the Ring is only 1080P but is a more natural image. It is less crisp but has lower blocky artefacts than the Tapo. * The Tapo’s low light performance is far superior though. * The field of view (FOV) is significantly better on the Ring, both horizontally and vertically. Realistically I’d need 2 of this Tapo camera to properly cover the same area that the Ring camera does * The app experience is very similar between the two, responsiveness is similar too. I would have happily stuck with Ring if it weren’t for their subscription greediness. I have a Ring Doorbell Pro too, and paying for subscription for them was now £50 per camera. I bought this Tapo Camera, a Tapo Doorbell Camera, one of their Hubs and a 512gb microSD card for storage for £170, as my Ring Protect was due to renew at £100 soon. So, in less than two years I’ll be saving based on Ring Protect costs alone. I’ll be honest, I was originally a little disappointed in this Tapo camera when comparing it to my 6-year-old Ring camera but the point is that it is perfectly good enough for what I need and frees me from Ring’s inflated subscription costs (which, over 6 years must total a few hundred quid). It is also unfair to directly compare the two cameras. One was £28, the other £120 - yet the difference between them is not that great. Really, the biggest let down is the horizontal FOV, but I could but two of the Tapo and it still not break the bank. Summary This is a perfectly good camera and a bargain at the price. A worth option to free yourself from Ring.

Great picture quality and no cloud subscription need when using a memory card.
Tapo C120 2K 4MP Wifi Outdoor Camera is compact, very easy to install and picked up wifi without any problems. Works well on the Garage to keep an eye on the car and the drive way. Picture quality is excellent, it is suitable for outdoor use and with an extender in the garage wifi is showing excellent quality outdoors. Keeps recording whilst detecting movement. Don't need to pay for the cloud. I am recording onto a memory card. Overall I am very impressed with the Outdoor camera.

So easy to install and works really well. Zoom quality and night vision are outstanding. Great value and excellent quality. Easy to access through the app. I would recommend these. This is one of FOUR which I now have after buying one to test it out initially. 😉👌

Great wireless ip cctv camera
This is a great little camera. Don't be put of by the small size, this is a very good wireless ip cctv camera with great image quality, night vision and functions. Mounting options for this camera are extremely novel! It can be screw mounted directly to any surface as normal, but can also be mounted magnetically to any metal surface, or mounted to the supplied metal disc plate which can be either screwed or stuck to a surface with the supplied adhesive pad. It can even be used just sat on a shelf or table top without mounting. The magnetic mounting option is very good and strong enough to mount securely. Image quality is very good and it has options to use either infra red night imagery or use the two led spot lights for full colour image at night. It also has a lot of clever motion and sound monitoring alert features, including sounds of baby crying, cat meow, dog bark, glass breaking and identifies movement of people, cars, pets etc. It has a loud alarm feature and you can even listen and talk through the camera. No fees or subscription is required to view live or recorded footage on the free Tapo app. (You will just need to purchase and install a micro sd card). Or you can subscribe and pay for their cloud based service if you want it, but it is not required. This is a fantastic little camera especially at the low price. I have purchased numerous differnt Tapo wireless cctv cameras and this is one is very impressive for its size, image quality and features. I have replaced two wired cctv dvr systems (home and business) with various Tapo cameras and am more than happy with the cost, image quality and funtionality. I have no hesitation in recommending Tapo wireless ip cctv cameras. This is a genuine review of the camera purchased by me.

Tapo doesn't want you to use an SD card - it wants you to subscribe to a monthly contract!
This camera was pretty easy to set up, even for one on the far-side of 70, the picture quality is very good, and I was offered a one month free Tapo cloud trial, which I happily accepted. The only niggle was I could not control the length of the recordings and sometimes they were much too short and only partially recorded an event. The real problem came when I set up local storage at the end of the trial month - a total nightmare! The SD card formatted without a problem but I could neither delete recordings nor download them to my computer. The Tapo app kept telling me I could not download a clip because Tapo and my phone were using different networks! I checked - they weren’t. I changed some settings on my devices and thought I’d solved the problem but then I got a message telling me I’d used all my allowance (what allowance?) and try later!, then back to the different networks story … and finally, today (day 3), the Tapo videos froze after 12 seconds!!! Something is telling me Tapo doesn’t want its users to store locally. What it wants is users to 'give them a wedge' each month aka a subscription. So, their plan is - make it so tricky, users revert to a subscription. Tapo: a message from a now ex-user: Don’t pretend you allow independence, if you don’t. The camera is a lovely design and if you’d sold it to me as subscription only - I might (if you’d also allowed me to programme filming lengths a bit) have gone along with it but - this customer doesn’t like being conned and mislead. I’m in process of a return and refund … Goodbye, Tapo!

Good quality
in the description it says that the camera has "color night vision" I don't see such an option anywhere in the settings. The manufacturer himself does not provide such information, so how is it?
